    my suggestion would be to have instanced HNM's that drop the same items at a lower rate as the non instanced HNM's. That way, the items will never be fully monopolized
    people always find a way, like people do right now doing runs in lv25 raid as lv50's. instance's should have other not so good drops since they just give you the HNM. other wise the world HNM will never be camped.

    Spend company seals to buy BCNM Orbs

    BCNM = get item to pop NQ NM. 100%
    NQ NM = 50% chance to get item to pop HNM.

    They need to have both. (like Nidhogg/Aspi/KB in XI and Einherjar, they droped the same gear except 1 is instanced and 1 set is World Hnms)

    IF they do not add HNMs they are going to piss off alot of people who came over from XI and prevent some people from XI from eventually coming over. They might be a small % of the MMO world but they make up probally over 50-60% of the current playerbase.

    Add World NMs, and have the item be a rare drop for a instanced raid. (so say a 75-100% drop from the 24-72hr spawn world HNM and a 5% extra bonus drop from a dungeon.) That way the 5min cooldown with raids will not negate the World NMs, but those who do not want to camp can just run the raids. <= makes the casuals and hardcores happy

    All the people screaming no World Spawns is as bad as the hardcores screaming make everything take 18-36 people to do. The game needs content for both casuals and Hardcores... and alot of FF vets are expecting world spawns.

    I played FFXI up until the Square Enix account management fiasco in July. I'm biding my time until I see a favorable payment option.

    Now to address this, since I don't believe you read anything leading up to my post:

    What changes are you referring to? The claiming system overhaul back in like '09? The move away from world spawned monsters because of Abyssea? The 2h adjustment? Changing Kings to force spawns? Or the fact that 90% of things you can obtain by soloing a mob in Abyssea are several magnitudes better than anything a world spawn NM could drop? Even Armada Hauberk is outclassed by other gear for the 3 jobs that can equip it. And lolRidill is now lolRidill.

    Defending Ring, Hermes Sandals and W.leg abjuration are arguably the only notable NM drops left outside of Abyssea, and one of those is from a pop mob.

    So, as you can probably surmise, as a person that's being doing endgame since 2005, I was probably referring to an earlier period in the game when RMT and botshells monopolized R/E gear. I'm not sure what you meant by "rarely" and "must have". So.. Tiamat + 3 kings, and over the course of the entire year throughout 2009 when bots finally reached a point that they could shut out most fair competition? I'm not sure where this rareness was when my friend was 2/3 on Black Belt and was asked to pay 5m for Egg, only to have that botshell withdraw their offer because someone else wanted to pay more.

    Also if you'd read anything at all before this page you'd know that I'm for keeping HNM and the addition of new open world mobs. I like camping. Sadly it will eventually be exploited to the point where the content isn't accessible, but that won't happen immediately.

    Your observations are keen and you make valid points sir. Please keep up the good work.

    Fafnir/Adamantoise/Bahemoth/Nidhogg/Aspi/KB are all force pop. 95% of the NM and HNM in Abyssea is force pop. Including end game content in Sky, and Sea. However HNMs like Cerberus, Khimaira and the joke of a HNM Hydra with lottery spawns between 3-5 days... Nobody care for those anymore. Thanks to Abyssea farming for pops etc.

    I'm not disagreeing with you or anything. I agree there should be both. I just want to say I'm not one of those people that crave for 12-24/36/48 hour hnm pops.

    ok then i do not mind free roam/world nms it will give something for the people who want them to do... supposedly ffxi players want a 3 day nm.. let them have it and go on your merry way.

    salvage, dynamis, einherjar type event is needed!!!! make it a 1-2 day reset things it would shut everyone up.

    HNM is fine, but add timer into it to prevent bot camping. After player engage this NM, all the players in the same PT will not be able to engage it again within 24 hours or one week.

    i like the idea of timers on players themselves for hnm's ..that will keep it so same players aren't killing them every time. least not on same character. but i also hate the idea of timers lol ...hate when the hardness of content is waiting to do it twice a week rather then ramming threw it couple times a day till i'm done with it.

    either way i'll look forward to hnm's but in no ways will i like 3hr pop windows an comming from afk every 25mins to try claiming, this should never come back, keep us always killing an fighting, not standing around.
