    [DRG] Concerning the recent Live Letter QA24 - Wheeling Thrust/Fang&Claw

    But I feel that this needs a thread of its own to discuss potential changes and what we really want from these abilities and concerns regarding our job so hopefully Yoshi/Square does not make any misdirected decisions.

    I could be overacting but the Live Letter QA24 may be a flag that they will potentially change our 4th stage combo and in turn dumbing down the job, I feel that DRG is in a fine position with its 50/50 4th stage combo tied with BotD gives a flare that 2.0 DRG did not have.

    So do you want any changes to our 4th stage combo? Do you think it's fine as it is?

    Edit: Just to clarify I love the changes including the RNG proc, if I had it my way I'd keep the class as it is but clearly a lot of people don't like it.

    As I stated in the other thread countless times, it's not the difficulty of the positionals that are the problem. The problem is both skills are the same damn thing.

    I really love how it works, if so, they have to push the max timing buff for BotD at 40, up to 30. I fucking love how both skill works, so far. I hope they don't change it.

    also how they could change it? by deleting the positionals? This will be less fun and more boring...

    If so, they could add some extra effect to both skill :/

    I also agree that may BotD mechanics add flare.

    I don't mind the 50/50, I don't mind them being the same thing either. Depending on which one I get, I have to be in a different position. I find that interesting.

    2.x drg had no such interesting mechanic. I just kept playing it because it was first 50. After nin came out, I swapped mains but still played drg from time to time.

    I went back to drg main this patch because what drg got seemed more interesting, game play-wise than what nin got.

    Huton extension attack
    2 enmity moves
    Dream within a dream
    Another oGCD attack.

    I think drg came our on top. Even compared to mnks changes/additions.

    All j think they need to do is reduce the potency loss so that when you have no way to get to the position required, you don't loose 190.

    I'd say a loss of 90-100 potency would be fine.

    However, there are situations in content where it’s difficult to execute actions from the proper direction, so we would like to make adjustments for this for Patch 3.05.
    To me, this sounds like they're considering raising the base potency on missed 4th combo positionals, which would be a welcome change. 190 potency loss is way too much.

    There's nothing "dumbing down" about it. To dumb it down, they'd have to change something that required some intelligence from the player. Sitting near the flank / rear and moving appropriately doesn't take any thought. All that is is a reaction.

    If they made it a static lets say TTT4-Flank to a IDC4-Rear that's dumbing down the class no matter how you slice it, and that could be what they'll potentially do in the future.

    No one is saying they ARE dumbing down the class it's a topic to try and avoid them POTENTIALLY dumbing down the class, a word that you don't need to take too literal.
