It's not broken. Every class has a mechanic that's punishing when not used correctly. The severity varies from class to class but not all difficulties are created equal.

Things I wanted changed for Dragoon:
1)Wheeling thrust to be different somehow and not be a clone of Fang and Claw. This skill adds nothing to the class except for complexity and no increase of DPS and anyone who says it does plainly doesn't know what they are talking about.
2)No more RNG its just plainly annoying, I have memorized where everything is so I don't need to look at my hotbar sadly when i reach 4th tier I need to look down and see what I get. Some reason I just don't like that.
3)Increase base potency for Fang and Claw/Wheeling Thrust from 100 -> 190/200
4)Shorter cooldown for Blood of the Dragon 1m -> 30sec (this was wishful thinking here haha dont take this one seriously)
5)Leave the positionals but put Fang and Claw on Full Thrust and Wheeling Thrust on Chaos Thrust
If they make these changes I would be happy with Dragoon it keeps the skills we learned useful and people would still be doing positionals + keeping Blood of the Dragon up.

I'd like to prefix this by saying that the positionals don't bother me all that much, if at all. If they wanted to make the design different however they could have made it so that Fang and Claw ate BotD time and did more damage while Wheeling Thrust renewed BotD. Both proc every 4th combo. I'd then change Geirskogul to consume the rest of the buff and do more damage.
BotD would have to last longer base but that would introduce the mechanic in stages and make each step a reward.
Once again though, I quite like it the way that it is
Hello this may not be an entirely separate issue to Darus's post: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...heeling-Thrust
But I feel that this needs a thread of its own to discuss potential changes and what we really want from these abilities and concerns regarding our job so hopefully Yoshi/Square does not make any misdirected decisions.
So do you want any changes to our 4th stage combo? Do you think it's fine as it is?
I like how making a class use 15 buttons instead of 16 is 'dumbing it down'. Complexity for the sake of complexity isn't 'intelligent design'. Square needs to get out of the phase of pointless 'increase damage of x for y seconds' (especially on melee) abilities and abilities that unlock other abilities just for the sake of filling in button spots. Honestly BotD is what annoys me more than the other 2 abilities alternating.

you don't understand the problem.
this is the problem.
Is not a major problem the only fix you might see is less pot loss. These threads are pointless at this point, srry our class got new complexity. I mean BoTD is harder to maintain then hitting the positional, don't get all the focus on one random proc.

I simply consider it as one ability and macro it into a single keybinding to save space, launch myself to the position as soon as I see the buff pop-up. - I was a bit disappointed initially but I suppose that got drowned out with me having fun with the new BoTD
mechanic.

Same, I thought the random proc is pretty neat but it seems to be hit or miss with the players.
This thread was initially made so we could avoid Square misfiring the class into the wrong direction.
Throwing in my agreement with the OP: Dragoon is perfectly fine as is. I like the new 4th combo hits, I like the positionals, and the RNG is the easiest aspect of the new rotation to deal with. I hope SE doesn't change it at all.
The weirdness of Wheeling Thrust coming in at 58 is simply an artifact of them designing the new rotation from a level 60 perspective (and really, why wouldn't they?). Maybe it would have made more sense to give both F&C and WT at the same time, but then again, 56-57 gives you a chance to adjust to the BotD rotation without worrying about changing positionals.
