HNMs should have longer spawns, its part of what makes them different then the plain old NMs. They are much harder, have longer spawn times and drop some of the better gear at slower rates (lower drop rates basically). I would actually be pretty bored if an HNM poped every hour and the drop rate is good...then everyone an their grandmothers would have good stuff. A major part of the HNM appeal was how the items were much rarer to get, making the people who got them slightly above others. As much as people dont like to hear it, competitiveness and showing off is a huge appeal in MMOs.

I can't tell you how many times i ran by and checked people in FFXI and went "whoa...i want that" and knew right away that the person who got it was not only lucky, but put a lot of effort into getting the item, its a big feeling of accomplishment and excitement when you get that hard to get rare drop for yourself or friends.

I agree but we no longer live in the time that people like hardcore games we have to deal with casual. We have to make a middle line with it. They can make the HNM pop every 1-2hours with low drop rate and have BCNM for the casual that don't want too do the HNM version you still get the same item but it going to be even a lower drop rate then getting it from the HNM.

Now, let's say they remove every HNM from the game.

Does it make any difference at all to you at the end of the day?
Yes. The items will then be obtainable another way; hopefully a better way... i.e. instance.

Also didnt read the fact that HNMs dont have to drop stuff that rmt want...like U/U gear...they dont want anything they cant sell. They did that to HNMs in FFXI years ago, not sure why they wouldnt do that again.

please come up with better excuses as to why they need to never impliment it into this game because you dont like it and would rather let noone have it if you cant do it...greedy clowns.

Hasn't stopped them before. They claim the mob, then offer to let people "buy" a slot in the party to lot the item. Anything in the treasure pool is fair game, whether it's tradable or not.

If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.

really, have you played FFXI at all since the change? that rarely happened, unless the item was so great it was a must have, and even then it quickly went away because they realized how little bussiness they made.

and if you want to go that way, they even used instanced stuff to sell, they would do the same thing (buy an item and they get it for you) so should we s just say no instanced versions either, cause they can exploit that too.

might as well take out all the NMs and any monsters that drop decently priced items because rmt can camp over it and exploit it. might as well instance the whole game because of RMT, better that way right?

Almost everyone who is for a HNM system has suggested better way of doing a HNM system, having everything as an instance would destroy the game IMO, you need variety even more so in endgame content.

    EDIT: Still chuckling ^^
