Fending vs. Slaying accessories at this point in the game

I know parry is too much RNG but I still say it's an important stat they should really adjust it more so it's more obvious and less RNG thou.

Should of, could of, but didn't. It sucks. Stacking it sucks. It will continue to suck until then.

If anything, I think dark dance is a reason not to bother stacking parry. 20s of +30% parry every minute is plenty of parry. You need to stack a ton of it to notice any difference - the points are better off in crit and det, which will benefit your souleaters as well as your dps.

All current content is easily done with STR spec + full slaying accessories. Your mileage may vary depending on the skill of your healers. Savage will likely require some Fending accessories, at least for progression.

A good tank should have both.

I carry a set of both, but from Alex I'll only be getting the Slaying, and after I finish my tank gear, probably only belt, boots, and legs because the rest is kind junk, I guess I'll spend my Alex drops on MNK/AST once I get them leveled. Once we get AF I'll probably pick my tank focus based on how they look, cause honestly that WAR AF looks pretty awful, hah!

I will be picking up fending accessories first and foremost as it would suck to get killed due to a lack of HP. After I get them I will be getting slaying.

I did all of Alexander as i170 with full Slaying accessories, only Fending was the i160 neck. Had zero issues as either MT or OT on any floor. Honestly, no need for any tank to used Fending accessories at this point. Buy them second if your planning on Alex(Savage) otherwise, just go with Slaying. For all 3 tanks, WAR, PLD and DRK.

Did you run with a static or healers you knew? It does make a difference since I will be pf'ing Alex.

I solo queued each floor, and cleared all 4 of them without any issues. Well, had some problems with my first group on F3, second time was a one shot.

My schedule doesn't allow me to have a static anymore, so I usually just solo queue or hop in PF groups as I see them.

^ this. I just got comfortable with the playstyle of DRK, and let m tell you actually getting a decent heal off Soul Eater is nice. Also at a certain point Living Dead is kinda shafting you buy having too much HP.

Yes, this is very important. Thanks to Living Dead being absolutely awful, DRK is the only tank that actually gets worse in certain places with any sort of vitality investment.
