    It's a definite possibility. As it stands right now, you must always be in active mode with weapon in hand while casting. Once they allow casting in passive mode, this has the chance of changing the animation.

    Unfortunately, there is the chance they will simply remove the weapon from your hand (keeping it in it's passive position) and use the exact same stance and "glowing hand" animation already in the game. This would take far less time and energy to accomplish, so it seems the most likely short term outcome.

    We can cross our fingers for a surprising level of casting animation revamp in the near future, but we will most likely only see minimal changes.

    I really wish the devs would comment on this and address our concerns.

    I think he means the actual casting animations themselves, and not the animation of the spells such as Cure and Flare (not that they couldn't use an update as well... lol).
