    I agree with thread starter.

    Give the casting animations some love. Even FFXI has different casting animations depending on the type of magic! (Granted, they're not very spiffy but at least they're different from each other!)

    Speaking of animations (slightly off topic)- Please change the walking animation in Cut Scenes. Normal people do not do the weird semi-dance-meandering-gait thing when they're seriously walking. I've seen my character walk normally once- at the opening CS to Gridania. It really it difficult to enjoy a CS when you're distracted just by how awkward and somewhat retarded your character looks when compared to others.

    But back to point! And this does somewhat tie in to my little rant...

    SE has always, always, always been very bad at making the CS world work with the player world (and not just in FFXIV, but in other FF games as well. For the sake of being brief I'll stick to FFXIV only).
    The opening CS for LimsaLominsa where the cat lady shields you from the jellyfish- that was cool! But can the players do that? Negative my friend.
    I guess what I'm trying to say is, if the CS has a particular (and rather cool looking casting animation) please let the player do it as well. Or at least let it be somewhat cool, instead of just /waves wand! = =;;

    But yes, good job thread starter. ^^ I hope they do show the casting animation some love!

    the orbs in the elemental wands should glow all the time respective to what element they are. wind =green, fire = red, ice = light blue, water = royal blue, so on and so on. Some sort of animation surrounding the character when casting and varying cast animations based on job would be cool.

    I seriously have to macro in both a "/t <t>" and a "/p" macro just to inform people they are being raised and to get ready to open the menu and accept the Raise so they don't miss it.

    Not only casting animations but ALL animations, seems like every ability no matter the class has the same half squat activation animation -.- so lame and boring.

    I'll just go ahead and add my signature to this "Spells should have bigger, better, flashier animations" thread. ^_^ I'm fine with the low level animations. But once it gets up there. Let the environment FEEL the spell. Let the sky get dark when casting Firaga, or Thundaga. Or maybe it actually starts snowing for a minute within a certain radius when you cast blizzaga.

    And of course, the spells themselves need to be bigger. Give us some whorls of magic, and let a few thunderbolts drop from the clouds. Big ones.

    Maybe I'm thinking too big. Sigh.....

    But I still feel it would be awesome for like...if a mage casts flare in the forest... and the animation happens to be a column of fire as high as the sky... that people in Gridania can look over and see it...and go... O_O
