The DPS difference between WAR and PLD is actually extremely close. In fact, the gap in DPS between the two in Shield Oath vs Defiance has been closed dramatically. They're both fairly close together. OT though WAR is ahead but not by a significant margin. The one thing holding PLD back at the moment are fights like Ravana EX where you cannot get all your Goring Blade ticks during his Liberation casts, which ends up lowering your over all DPS. If the boss doesn't jump frequently or have short burst phases, PLD is very competitive with WAR in terms of damage done.

The main reason WAR pulls ahead on fights like Ravana is because they can dumpster their Fel Cleaves during Liberation (which is another reason why people are seeing such high Fel Cleave numbers... because of the extra damage Ravana takes while casting Liberation).

The only thing presently broken about WAR is their almost unlimited TP while DPS'ing in Deliverance. This will push them ahead of the other DPS classes that run out of TP and PLD OT in long fights.

DRK is a non-factor in long drawn out fights and it's not the fault of WAR. DRK just becomes TP starved (especially as OT) so they become more of a liability then a positive. If DRK didn't have severe TP issues it could potentially be right up there with both tanks during long boss encounters.

WAR seems to be in a good place right now and I personally feel any nerfs to them are unwarranted. The only thing that needs adjusting is there near infinite TP. WAR OT did have TP issues, but Fel Cleave alone would have fixed that problem.

Do the tics do less damage after Liberation? Most DoTs are a snap shot of their initial application.

And yes PLD is very competitive vs a WAR. WAR still has the burst and AoE advantage which good WARs will use to gain on any parse.

Cool ty, I just did Ravana EX for the first time last night. Might be better to spam Royal then unless Goring is timed to be the first GCD of Liberation.

Is this something new or does this vary on encounters? I've seen boss such as garuda die from PRE existing DOTs after she jumps away and becomes invulnerable plenty of times

Some bosses have DoTs tick while they're away, others don't. Just depends on what boss you're fighting.
