Very well. By your same standards, FFXIV could potentially be a FFXII-2, since Thanalan is very close to the Dalmasca Estersand and Westersand. Or perhaps a FFX-3, since it is very similar to Bikanel Island deserts. Or how the Black Shroud bears similarities to Kilika forest, therefore, FFXIV should be renamed FFX-3. Oh wait, Balamb fields was next to an ocean as well. Therefore, as La Noscea bears similarities to Balamb fields, FFXIV should be renamed FFVIII. Oh no, Coerthas seems to resemble the Archytle Steppe! Therefore, this should be a FFXIII-3! But wait, Mor Dhona resembles Dream's End mashed with Mushroom Rock, so it's closer to a FFX-3!!!

Thank you SO much for using your extensive background knowledge of FF titles to help ppl recognize how foolish they look when they try to disregard the similarities between XIV and XI. Do you realize you just contradicted yourself completely? Look at how many DIFFERENT FF titles you had to draw from to find similarities between previous FF titles and FFXIV. That is my ENTIRE point. Please, EVERYONE, stop ASSUMING that I think this is, LITERALLY, XI-2. That was a sarcastic remark made in an attempt to rally the ANTI-FFXI ppl into making logical arguments against why SE *shouldn't* draw from FFXI as a base for the new updates. All I ever see from any of you is stuff like this: "This isn't XI-2, it's XIV; why do you keep bringing XI up?" "Go play XI. K, thnx bai." "F$%# XI." Over and over and over again, nothing productive ever comes from "your" side (anti-FFXI ppl). So, why don't you ppl quit being so close-minded, and contribute.

I'm not retarded, nor are the other ppl who bring up the EXTENSIVE commonalities between XI and XIV. Just because you all are in denial, doesn't mean it isn't true. I saw someone say that Roegadyn don't have tails...is that really the best you can come up with? Here, read a post from a less "intense," objective user:

I mean how about, for once, you address the concerns, and actually stay on topic? Have you read the posts?

I, for one, was looking forward to a new battle system with XIV; and I was quite excited about it.
It was only when the numerous "cracks" of the Armoury/Class system began to surface that I found myself needing to raise the issue. I have played most of the FF series' titles, and I did not have a single issue with any one of them; nor had any of them ever failed in the manner that XIV did. Obviously, there are issues with it that SE recognizes, and they are trying to address each of them, patch by patch. So, frankly, it's time to stop making XIV out to be some sort of Eutopia; take off those XIV, rose-tainted spectacles, and give constructive feedback for the future of this game.

I consider myself a loyal fan to SE, but people really need to get out of this white knight mentality where they're willing to let SE dump on their cupcake, and gladly call it icing. I think there is an intrinsic good in FFXIV, and it definitely has potential -otherwise I wouldn't, still be here. However, there is a lot of bad; and it needs to be addressed. Heck, even SE welcomes our bad feedback.

And for the love of all that is holy, stop trolling threads with your unproductive slogan: "Go play XI."

XI is already being copied to a good extent for the benefit and success of this game.
