320 potency on forbidden chakra according to Garland Tools. And Meditation shares recast timer with weapon skills. Is an instant cast ability with 1.5s recast apparently. Questions answered it seems if the info is legit.
Well, that's pretty shitty IMO.
At least it looks like the GCD while building Chakra stacks will be VERY short with GL3 and high SkS.
All other GCD abilites have a 2.5sec base recast timer, and Meditation's is 1.5sec.
Still going to be very situational other than stacking it before boss pulls.![]()
Yeah I'm pretty salty that pretty much kills weaving Forbidden Chakra into the mix.
So it is on a shorter GCD like I thought it might be. That's somewhat good news compared to full GCD that is. They don't want Forbidden Chakra spamming because that would be really strong. So Chakra will likely be a filler ability to extend combos to 4 actions. So if you aren't refreshing something like TOD you'd hit Meditate to get a stack. That way you're still rebuilding stacks. Definitely need to get hands on with it to see what the best usage is going to be.
I must add that the tooltip has no mention of the Chakra stacks being expended on use of either Purification or Forbidden Chakra. But I doubt this is the case considering Forbidden Chakra has an apparent 5s recast.
Oh well![]()
from what I see on reddit i dont' see a change with shoulder tackle
Will have to see about that... that's 7.5 seconds of no attacking if you use it 5 times during your normal rotation. Using a couple of times during rotation maybe, but all 5 stacks sounds like it would be a DPS loss in total. 320 potency is high for MNK, but not extremely high by any means... Especially in 3.0 when many jobs are getting increased damage. So it is on a shorter GCD like I thought it might be. That's somewhat good news compared to full GCD that is. This is even more of a problem when you consider that Purification would use those 5 stacks without giving any damage at all, which seems more likely now with what we know of Forbidden Chakra tooltip
that's the same text as before on Shoulder Tackle.
So with GL3 and skillspeed meditate triggers a gcd of about 1.15 ~ 1.2 seconds? Not bad at all.
