If they look and feel like the original egis, that it itself seems a problem to me. And this is coming from someone who keeps their Egi alive through the last boss of Keeper of the Lake without Sustain (assuming at least some small amount of AoE heals to deal with the unavoidables). If the control system for and the responsiveness of the egis was improved, that it itself would close much of the gap between summons as pets and summons as attacks.

Also, the majority of the skill development cost, as far I've ever heard, is in the animations, not the programming of the skill itself. How would adding new animations for the same ability then be any more economical?
