Make the Summoner a hybrid Summoner/Elementalist specializing in Massive AoE Bursts with solid Single Target
Enkindle's 300s cool down is to long for the amount of damage it does and should be reduced to 120s

Make Summoner like WoW Elementalist Shaman
And rename summoner to Black Mage while you're at it SE!

Haven't you ever heard big things come in small packages. Plus with everything that happens on screen would you really want a huge summon fighting along side you. Wouldn't that get confusing, like if you were fighting titan with titan. Also everyone neds to stop comparing 14 to 11, this will never be 11-2. Could the Egis of been designed a bit better, maybe, but do their designs fit into both the games atmosphere and the lore, yes.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

And people need to stop posting stop comparing to 11 as soon as it's mentioned in any context, fact is when you release something in the same series as something else and it's worse than its predecessor it's going to be compared. If a keyboard company released a keyboard 2 that didn't have an enter button or an escape button or any arrow keys, people would say "why the hell did you make this? What was wrong with the enter button and escape button and arrow keys on keyboard 1??".Haven't you ever heard big things come in small packages. FFXI's SMN had its flaws yes, but for every 1 thing they improved on SMN here compared to XI they made 2 things far worse.
FFXI SMN could not be cured or buffed. Fixed that, but also made the pets useless to the job so doesn't matter in the slightest what you do to them!
FFXI SMN was boring when you didn't have a pet out, fixed that, gave SMN a base class that wasn't to do with summoning. But also made the job nothing to do with summoning!
As for the look, no I don't think it would be confusing, if you confuse a small roegadyn sized Titan for the actual Titan then hungry hungry hippos may be more along the lines of your skill level than ffxiv.

They should fix it so that you cannot keep making the same summoner complaint thread every week. That would be most lovely.
I main SMN and do end game coil. On turn 13.
I find it very fun the way it is. Didn't like SMN in 11 as it was more SMN/WHM.
I love my dots. I can only go with the whole change enkindle to 120 seconds idea.

NorthernLadMSP, they could also fix it so that unless you have something constructive to say, you aren't allowed to reply to a thread.
I never said it needed to be FFXI-2. Big summons in FFXI never got confusing in battles. All I was saying is the current models look lame, not even just in comparison to FFXI but every Final Fantasy game in the series. Summoners have always been able to summon massive avatars/Eidolon/Guardian Force/Aeons to fight for them. They have never been a damage over time job. I'd even be happy if their limit break was changed to a big Primal attack if nothing else.
Picori, SMN in FFXI was never meant to be played SMN/WHM and it hasn't been a 'back up healer' in years. The damage they can put out with their avatars is pretty crazy.
