RMT never has a day off. Either something is working or something fishy is going on. Either way, my move to Balmung this morning has been a treat. NOT ONE... ONE RMT message.

Probably due to how full the server is with ACTUAL characters. ... And that it's Legacy.

For those who haven't heard, I believe WoW banned around 100,000 bots recently? Those botters are talking about coming to ARR. More toxicity incoming.

Yep... they aren't RMT though, "only" botters. Shouldn't affect the spam, but sadly I expect SE to do roughly the same about those new botters as they do about the ones that have already been a scourge on this game for months.

OK, i may have some ideas for SquareEnix :
- first, the sellers/spammers : restrict the free trial account for the /tell and /friend functions at ... at least level 15
- second, the actual botters : see with blizzard how they are done this
- third and made this public : perma BAN of any gil buyer account

Frankly, if they've all switched to doing that and only that, I'd take that over the /tells, or the dreaded friend request mess I haven't personally experienced yet...

Same I started almost a month ago and notice all this /tell spam/say chat spam from these bots too. It's really annoying blacklisting one, only to have another one /tell or say chat another spam...and those darned requests. I don't know how in the world they get my character name, when I don't even see those spammers...but somehow they see me.

I have a better idea about the /tell spam...what about a /tell filter that blacklists these gil sell /tell(s) as a whole instead of blocking all /tell(s).

They probably think I'm stupid and will fall for their wiles...which I don't and I usually automatically go up to the whisperers name and blacklist them. I did accidentally add one of those 'sellgil' people a bit back (then when I realized what it was I blacklisted that person too)...I hope that doesn't give me a problem.
