Now if these people are RMT buying new games this is how they are profiting form this and they will never try to fix it, I suspect gil sellers are trial accounts, the accounts they farm with likely never spam with. Trial accounts should not be able to send friend requests, you have a friend trying the game, you send them a friend request. Trial accounts should not be able to search for players, this is how they are finding us to send the tells and requests. Trial accounts should not be able to trade or use market board. Trial accounts should only be able to send tells to friends. Gil selling would be crushed instantly. Boom, done finished.

Trial accounts already can't send tells at all, nor shout, yell, trade and use the market board.

That's our answer then, SE is never going to do anything, these people are buying new games to do this(If SE is really banning), revenue through our harassment, wow.

The problem is the ban numbers are empty ones. RMT /tells seemingly do not decrease no matter how many bans they dish out. It's obvious other measures are required.

Yes, go to:

Character Config >> Log Window Settings (on the side) >> Notification Sounds tab (at the top)



From here you can either uncheck "Tell" to turn off sound or change the sound to something lighter and less annoying.

Just in case people think FF servers are all plagued by gold seller spams.

I have not received a single tell, shout or friend request from gold sellers since I started playing in may.

I am now 50, finished my story and roaming around doing leftover quests to unlock dungeons and still... No spam.

But I'm on a jp server so... That might mean something.
