This was already discussed before. Apparently communicating with your party members is too hard, but in on some scenarios it is understandable; difficult because of the language barrier. Also, Vishap's foot makes a mean adventurer pancake.![]()

Why do you guys get a nerf to SoF, yet I don't get my fishing nerf.
I think I need to cry harder on the forums.
PLZ NERF FISHING I WANT MY IRONWORKS ROD BEFORE I TURN 90.
You will only be met with fierce resistance on this forum trying to talk about wanting challenging content. I gave up the debate personally lol. Also SoF received a nerf after only one month before SE has statistical data about how many people have cleared something and they probably panicked noticing that 3.0 is around the corner and a very low number of people have cleared SoF or something, that's my best guess. Story content creates a wall that prevents players from unlocking content until they've beaten certain parts of the story and with such a game design it becomes very important that players can easily beat the story or they may get frustrated and quit because they can't advance anywhere.
I love challenging content but it doesn't belong in story content that requires players to run it to unlock other content. Keep it all optional... however they still nerf the optional content and that is another matter all together :P

The issue should never be "its old now, lets nerf it." because the challenge should stick around regardless otherwise players will never adapt and progress in their class, there's a reason why people don't get further in raid content and that becomes obsolete after a few months.
The "nerf" already exists, the weekly passby's of tome gear = better gear = better output from all classes. not to mention that the first catalyst for upgrading pieces is two turns into the second and final coil, in which lets be honest, if you're NOT raiding, why would you ever need these.
Raid gear is borderline pointless and it doesn't separate the raiders who do the harder content from the casual players who can get the equivelant output from their relic weapon + augmented gear, sure the stats won't be the best for their class, but because ilvl has such a huge stigma tied to it, they wont ever care, they'll see themselves as the best they can get and on par with other players of their class due to the cheer level of their gear.
the challenge should stay the same, echo shouldn't honestly be a thing and neither should the nerfs, let the players adapt to the "hard" content of the game and learn their roles effectively to LET THE PLAYER BASE GROW.. the only nerfs i could ever agree with is those which are mandatory such as advancements in story quests etc. the only thing i can even credit at the moment is the lockouts from t5,9 and primals. making players progress to progress.
That's basically it.
Shame really, I think the game loses some long term appeal because of these nerfs. I know plenty of people who stopped playing after 2.0 and if I tried to get them back using content they played as a basis? Not going to happen, stuff they may once have enjoyed is a complete joke now. If you're not at the cutting edge of content in this game, you're not going to get a challenge, and only people currently playing are at that point.
Sure, Steps of Faith was gating Heavensward access and that's an issue. Not with the challenge of Steps of Faith though, that is solely an issue with the way they've designed Heavensward. They could have easily put in content which isn't gated behind the main scenario. They could have thrown in Beast Tribe Strongholds as new zones (with the exception of Sahagin I could point out where we'd even zone into those) outside Ishgard for some Lv60 content for people still catching up on the main scenario quests, fairly sure people have been begging for something like open world dungeons (which that could have been) since launch.

That's what happened with me. I was trying desperately to keep a stable static together to clear FCoB cuz I started the game very late and T13 ends up getting an echo nerf before I was able to clear it... then wouldn't you know I'm able to finally clear it after the echo nerf and even though you can turn off the echo buff, good luck getting people to agree to do it just so you can have an un-nerfed clear.
It may make me sound like a loser but I was extremely upset and nearly quit this game over not being able to clear the final coil turn before SE came down on it with an echo nerf and trust me that 10% echo really eased the fight because the fight is all about high HP and a tight DPS check. Oh well, no one particularly cares if you are a player who enjoys a challenge here, everyone is 100% pro-nerf.
There is challenging content, but it becomes not challenging as time passes and it becomes irrelevant.
That is the nature of most MMOs: If it's not rewarding, people will rarely do it.
And since this game is linear in nature, content will become obsolete.
FFXI tried the other way, having a bunch of non-linear content and "sidegrades." It became to the point that you have to spend a LOT of time and research to get a set of usable gear.
Then do the process over again.
XIV's linear method is a stylistic choice. Content becomes obsolete, but at the same time getting into the game or caught up after a hiatus is much easier.
It's a trade-off, with positive and negative points.
Hyperbole. It may make me sound like a loser but I was extremely upset and nearly quit this game over not being able to clear the final coil turn before SE came down on it with an echo nerf and trust me that 10% echo really eased the fight because the fight is all about high HP and a tight DPS check. I really don't understand why people are complaining about "everyone being pro-nerf" when the majority of complaints i've been reading have been "they nerfed it whyyyyyy!?" every time a nerf is thrown out.
Every. Time.
I think the only nerf I saw no complaints about was reducing the t10 and t11 trash mob damage.
Just as you enjoy challenge, many players want to finish the content before the new content comes out. It's been out for 6 months. A lot of people are just plain done with it, making it hard to find people for it.
Big question: when the expansion comes out, what point will there be in doing this content, with or without nerfs?
"The challenge?" Sure...I've heard of about "low iLevel runs" of BCOB and SCOB...if you wanna put forth the effort, you can make it hard. Savage Coil is also a thing.
The challenge is there, you just gotta look for it.

Gotta go fast! Jokes aside, it really shouldn't be like that. But, I do believe that with the inclusion of two different difficulties of the raid, the only adjustments that SE can touch is probably just the story mode difficulties. Though, I am kind of expecting players to moan about not getting the best gear possible.
