Like I said, you are worried too much about other players progression if you feel disgusted by nerfs. Just worry about your own enjoyment and have fun playing.

I don't think making the game easier is necessarily healthy in a long-term.
If there is something you cannot reach due to lack of skill or lack of gear, doesn't that give you incentive to strive to be better and work harder for your gear?
What is wrong with having those kind of barriers?
For me, if there is something I cannot clear or achieve in a video game, it is actually more motivating for me.

Funniest thing about that is that we could probably assume that there are a fairly large group of "hardcore" players out there looking for a new home (didn't WoW recently lose over 2m subs?). Certainly isn't going to be here at this rate.

The profits other games have made with the same approach trumps your aversion to giving it to players now.

I don't like it either, but money talks, and BS walks.

What players are willing to "pay" for is what counts, not what they always like.

And the reference to the hardcore population (not you) looking for a new home?, well the large portion of that hardcore crowd is dwarfed by casual numbers who want it easy and or now, I thought this was pretty much universally known these days.
