Thread: Any idea what is in patch 2.57?

The reality is that Steps of Faith was becoming a roadblock, at least for American players. Personally I never was in a group that had particular issue with it but that could just be luck.

Steps of Faith is a story trial. It wasn't and never was intended to be 'hardcore' content. If it was Savage Coils they were nerfing then sure there would be an issue. However 'Hardcore' content is always entirely optional which Steps of Faith most definitely wasn't.

Its not like they want people not buying Heavensward because they cant find a group to get through Steps of Faith with.

It was fun before. Not even close to hardcore. Now they made the fight like a SmartPhone game where you can watch netflix and just press a button without looking at the screen to win.

Assuming its that easy.

Weakening a few things by (Unknown) amount. SoF is mechanical. You don't poke him in the butt and hope to win, you need them cannons to kill the adds (lesser now), you survive getting blown up by said cannons (by Unknown amount now). The DKs and Snares remain. (A thing I dreaded in my one and only run... I did snares and my bro got really good with that DK...)

Unless those HPs are reduced by a great amount then nothing is going to save a group that cannot even conceive of Cannons/Snares/DKs...

Am I the only one here who read Yoshi's interview with Time? Part of that interview included him explaining that SE and he consciously made the decision to create a game that would attract and hold people who had n.e.v.e.r. played an mmorpg before. It's working, it seems. Some of those people will eventually be just as good as anybody here, if not better, at playing FFXIV; and along with those who remain ever so casual, the player base will have been expanded along with SE's income. That's a good business decision. Good on 'em.

So, they nerfed SoF. Big deal not, imo. In a month it will be outdated content for most here.

Its already outdated for a lot of people. I think very few people run it more than once unless it pops up on the Roulette and if that's the case there are already pretty faceroll encounters there now due to gear. Certainly the people after challenge aren't likely to have run it more than once anyway.
