DPS display could easily be solved with a system already in game.

Didn't really need a parser in XI's earlier years when everything gave you 30 minutes at the minimum to defeat something if it was in a battlefield. Most of the relevant content was outdoors and had no such restrictions, or enrages for the matter until years after the fact.

Isn't the whole reason they added Enrage because of the fact that Raiders were holding the NM's so the next spawn would be "During their window"? and they'd be holding it for hours on end just to make sure of it? It was a monopilization issue IIRC.

That's one of the reasons. Another is because without enrage, you can easily turtle any fight in most any game by stacking enough heals. Soft enrage helps to counter that, but it doesn't always do its job, as seen in people exploiting the Turn 2 soft enrage.

Check the hate list, if you're high on it you're doing good enough DPS. I learned this after 2 days DPS'ing. I'm a White Mage and I figured this out, I don't need parsers.

As iLv.111 DRG I'm often 2 or 3 on the hate list in WoD. Just seeing that is enough to see my rotations are fair and playing a part towards victory. I don't need Obama in my ear.
