Ok so guys who is going to be one to make our new thread for heavensward cause "Lewena" has not made a post on the forums since December.
So, long time lurker, I think first time poster.
I'm trying to figure out increasing my personal DPS increases with the stat weights that Sunny and Dervy have posted (namely the variation between DET), and I've got two different gearsets in mind that apply to both weights-
Dervy's DET of .336 as of 2.45
Sunny's DET of .572 as of 2.5~ish
Kaiser Knuckles I customized to +11acc/+33crit/+31det (+13acc/+39crit/+38Ddet zeta) in order to stop eating Flint Caviar, which I find personally to be a sub-par food when you can't get near the crit cap for it, especially with Sunny's DET weight. Black Truffles for life!
Luckily CRIT stays the same, the only real variations are (going from Dervy's to Sunny's) -2STR, +18DET, -32SKS, which equates to a change of GCD from 2.08 to 2.11.
Spamming striking dummies for the past few hours have shown tests (barring crit RNG) to be extremely close, within 5-8 DPS usually, barely in favor of Sunny's weights.
Any thoughts/opinions? I had a question but I'm not sure where it went with posting all this jazz. Mostly wondering if changing my Zeta to minor accuracy was a good idea (it was 22acc/22crit/31det before).
Ignore my .336. It's closer to Sunnys DET. With my napkin math, I'd say it'll be closer to 0.45-0.5, but meh. Don't use weights for now for any jobs.
I vote either Odowla, Aurily, Ricdeau or Sunny.

I think most of my issue stems from only having 356 sks terrifies me for my opener, since it's extremely tight. It's still doable (5hit PB > ToD > 123 combo) but there have been occasions where I just watch the GL timer in fear. 18DET for 32 SKS is always a better change in my opinion, but does it have to be so terrifying? XD
Hello why am i being voluntold
real talk though theres a moderate chance ill be playing caster for HW, not melee, so even if i did the thread i cant make any promises right now.

Haha, I can make a thread, but unless DRG totally stinks in Alex savage, I'd be hard pressed to be playing an endgame MNK for at least a month. DRG is probably the thing I do best.
Im sure a thread will spawn organically. If no one else makes one by the time HW hits, ill probably make one myself but I'm sure theres at least a dozen or so regulars in this thread who are more qualified than me. It looks like I'm gonna be doing MNK main in HW so far. (Tried to switch to a caster when I joined a new static but that didn't go over as well as expected).
I am very sceptical about det being 0.572.Sunny Hirose: Det: 0.572
Dervy: Det 0.337 (old)
I have melded my stats based on the previous stat weights which is 0.337 but now you guys say it is closer to 0.572. Although I cant prove it wrong, I would highly suggest you redo your calculations. Because if we were to use logic, this would seem kinda absurd.
Lets look at the augmented ironworks slaying choker vs dreadwyrm choker of slaying for example.
The first gives you 23 str, 15 acc, 22 sks vs dreadwyrm str 23, crit 22, DET 11.
Now ignore the other second stats but focus just on the DET. What you are saying is that DET weighs 0.572. This makes the 11 DET on the dreadwyrm worth as much as 6.29 STR.
So the difference between the augmented ironworks vs dreadwyrm is 6.29 STR which is a highly dubious claim considering the update from i110 accessory to i130 accessory is from STR 18 to STR 23. So literally going from i110 to i130 gives you 5 more strength which everyone will agree is upgrade worth doing.
But now you are saying the difference between both i130 accessories is a whoppin 6.29 STR, which is MORE than the upgrade from i110 to i130. Its stuff like this that makes me wary of such claims. There is almost NO WAY the dreadwyrm choker is a whoppin 6 points higher than the augmented ironworks choker just from the DET alone.

I think Sunny overestimated Determination, but I can see it being approximately 0.5, definitely. Especially with my latest work matching Sunny's limited Determination findings.
