Here's some food for thought. Since they revealed that all your new abilities past lvl 50 come from job quests, if these quests require you to go to new areas people that hit lvl 52 or 53 while doing the 2.55 story line wont be able to get these new abilities.

Unless of course Ishgard is the only area locked out and you can still get to the other ones of course.
