    Eso trades

So I havnt seen this on here but I think it could be a decent "patch" to the current job lock we face with esoteric gear.

In my particular situation I am having to switch mains for the sake of my static. Something I don't have a problem with but kinda stinks that I have a fair amount of eso gear on my dragoon that I now need on my dark knight.

My idea is (with a restriction of course, monthly allowance?) that we be able to exchange our purchased eso gear for the same item of a different class. ( body-body, weapon - weapon) that way we can utilize different jobs if need be. You could also maybe do the same thing with savage gear. Though I do understand the risk of someone stealing a body just to trade it for the one they want. But really with need/greed and hopefully people within statics are not trying to screw each other over, I don't see this as a huge threat.

or they could just remove the un-necesscary cap.

Nice idea, but I can't really see such a system implemented. This job exclusive gearing fiasco has only been a thing for two tiers of gear progression. Not to mention, if I could just trade in my eso gear for a different set, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the 24-man raid gear? I thought the whole point of those raids were to provide quick and easy gear for players to catch up or gear alt jobs.

Honestly, if they didn't make Alexander's loot tables so god awful this wouldn't be as much of an issue. The manifestos are an amazing idea, but what they did to the individual floor's loot tables leaves a lot to be desired. (Hope you like boots, gloves, and belts as your only meaningful loot until you can down the hilarious RNG-fest of A3S!)

The cap is not unnecessary, without it almost everyone would already have full Eso gear and Expert dungeons would be empty.
But something like OP's idea, or a per-job cap would be nice.

It would take 40 days at playing 3 hours a day (A total of 65000 Esoteric tomes) and doing absolutely nothing but daily roulette's and dungeon farming in order to gear out every job in Esoteric gear. So no, they wouldn't be empty. This would infact probably encourage more people (%62 of the majority being DPS) to play as Tanks and Healers if gearing them wouldn't punish their main. Thus shortening the que times for everybody. This also doesn't take into consideration at all for gearing out retainer battle classes. Minion farming. Company Seals farming.

A per job cap as you said, would actually probably be a better route to go than anything.

Tome caps have existed for 2 years with only the addition of 100 more tomes per week than we originally started with. I can't ever see current tomes becoming just 2000 cap like the inferior version. Or would you like the dps checks to be 2x what they are now to compensate for no lifers who could complete gear sets day 1?

Id like to have multiple jobs geared in viable gear so I'm not forced to have the illusion of the ability to play multiple classes. People (and SE) seem to have this delusion that the entire game will die and nobody will play and everybody will just no life until they die at their desk from lack of sleep/food/water if they removed the tomes cap. I've been playing this game through out that whole two years and I've hated the cap for two years.

Considering it takes 4 hours of running dungeon to get 450 tomes. No. %90 of the player base would not have their full sets in 1 day.

As I stated above it would take 40 days at 3 hours per day of farming tomes in order to gear out every single job. Thats 40 days of absolutely nothing but dungeons for your average player.

Id "like" to have an i200 DRK right now but since I also "like" to play DRG, I have them BOTH at i190.

Id "like" to play a healer... but frankly I just don't want all 3 of my classes stuck below 20 ilvs.

I leveled a tank for faster que times. Maybe thats what the crying DPS should do if they don't like it... oh wait... its kinda pointless tanks to the caps since you'll have two gimped classes so you may as well just stick with running as a DPS.

    This is right and wrong.

Its right in that what you say is correct...Until the 4oth day. But after that? When the majority of plays have there gear?
    It would be awful.
Also not everyone levels every job to 60, so they will need even less eso.
2 or 3 months to gear every single class when it takes 6+ months per tier of new gear is a bad design, this game already has an issue with running out of content before more can be produced.

Id rather they keep the artificial longevity of eso caps and just let you do what OP suggested

Well people love to argue "there's so much to do in this game!".

So maybe once they gear up their 1 or 2 jobs they should do those other things.

The caps hurt the community as a whole already. Nothing bad would come from atleast increasing the cap. The way it is now is stupid. You can't even get 1 piece of gear per week because you're 45 tomes short.

Why should I basically be punished for rolling multiple jobs in a game that supposedly encourages you to do so.

Had to go away for a week? Sorry you're now a week behind for the rest of your play time in the current content because you didn't cap.
