"don't have access to the forums natively?" Say what now? What is 'native' access to a web forum anyway? My cellphone can post to this forum, so I guess that counts? Or do you think that consoles are so primitive that they lack web browsers? I haven't checked recently to be certain that the forum works flawlessly on them, but PS4 and PS3 both have web browsers which allows users to access the forums.Hey, no reason to start being rude to people.
Technically, since console players don't have access to the forums natively, a large majority of the players without access to the benchmark will never even see the contest. and the portion of the players who have a device capable of accessing the forums, but do not have access to a device capable of running the benchmark, is decisively smaller.
You make it sound like it's easy for anyone to just go out and buy one, like they're getting a cheeseburger at McDonald's or something. Not everyone has the means to buy a PC. That's probably why a lot of us don't have one, or not a good one in my case.
No need to be a jerk, is there?
Yay fuzzy hardware definitions abound. That Surface Pro Tablet is about as much a PC at the hardware level as the PS4 is, probably slightly less so in fact. the main difference being that the PS4 is not slapped with the Windows tax/virus.I'm going to stop you right there. you do realize a good portion of laptop and tablet users are using PC hardware right? a lot of people do not. so that question if you were vague is not the right one. yeah that's right you know that spiffy Surface Pro? guess what? it's a tablet that also happens to be a PC.
This kind of thing right here, along with all the suggestions regarding versions of Direct X, service pack installation, driver versions etc, all of that nonsense is why many people are content to play games on consoles. Consoles do get OS updates, yes, but there are not multiple components that can be updated without reference to each other, any of which can impact your game play. I can't help but laugh inwardly every time someone tries to tell me that actually PC gaming is as easy, or easier than console gaming, and yet I can turn the forum page and find a discussion about compatibility issues with drivers, configurations, browsers, OS versions, service packs, anti-virus software, etc...I agree with you on this one, if you are on windows 7 you should update to IE11(or atleast IE10) even if you never plan to browse with it.
Either way, suggesting that the OP or anyone else must have a PC to use a character creator is pretty annoying, it would have been possible to ship a character creator for PS4/PS3, without the benchmarking aspect of the thing. Though I will agree that would mean extra development, and I'd rather they spend as much time on the actual game as they can without such distractions.

Bad enough people like this are hounding my forum post for a similar one like the OP.
If they wanted it this way of PC only they would have never bothered with console support they would have told the people who had their ps3 copy of the game pre ordered and say sorry but not going this way guys tough luck. If you want a to play a game that has no console support then go play WoW.
Aaaaaand here we go again....
As a console player, this is kinda embarassing when other console players dont understand why PC players need the benchmark...
If you want to play it so much, console-ers, just play it on your computer. Im just using my parents old store bought laptop, and got a decent 1000 from it on high settings. It's doable on any computer (and Windows Tablets, Ive heard. I remember someone got it to run on one, back during the original BM release)
If anything, I would complain about it being a twitter only event.
Twitter is a crap site- should have been either here or on YT/reddit.
It just depends on who is wielding what.
i don't have a PC anymore because i simply don't need one. the performance from the PS4 is geat (better than most PCs have xD of course, you can spend tons of money to have a better performance on PC, but you only need that for your virtual penis), no need for a stupid benchmark because the game will work anyway...
and the others: who cares about the character creation? you are acting like that's the only thing you will do until 3.0. but i think you will spend only 30 mins to create an ugly character showing the screenshot around and never touch the thing again...
A troll post but, you do realise why people pay for more performance right? its call getting more detail and image quality out of the games, not only that but you did contradict your self in your opening sentence, 'better then most PC's'.i don't have a PC anymore because i simply don't need one. the performance from the PS4 is geat (better than most PCs have xD of course, you can spend tons of money to have a better performance on PC, but you only need that for your virtual penis), no need for a stupid benchmark because the game will work anyway...

So tell me, is increasing image quality and yet maintaining performance considered virtual penis?, this is great then, oh just like your statement 'the performance from the PS4 is great'.
It might? be your integrated graphics card. Those don't handle 3D applications well. If you do NOT have an integrated video card, you might want to troubleshoot that as it should run.My computer can't run the benchmark. I tried everything I could think of. All I wanted to do was play with the character creation thingy. Even with the lowest settings, all I would get was a black screen, then it would crash. My computer isn't even that old, but it's by no means designed for gaming. I thought it would at least be able to handle the character editor, though. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be able to play that benchmark video. I was so bummed last night.
