My computer can't run the benchmark. I tried everything I could think of. All I wanted to do was play with the character creation thingy. Even with the lowest settings, all I would get was a black screen, then it would crash. My computer isn't even that old, but it's by no means designed for gaming. I thought it would at least be able to handle the character editor, though. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be able to play that benchmark video. I was so bummed last night.

not a valid argument since they can access the forums from the web browser on the PS4(I'm fairly certain of this, also pretty sure the PS3 can as well, someone verify if this is true or not for the PS3/4 please), a smart phone, a non windows tablet or even a mac(nothing against macs but they dont get a native version of the benchmark)

Holy entitlement batman! For a second there it sounded like SE made the game just for you! How difficult life must be to live with that massive ego of yours, must be hard to even leave your parent's basement.

not once did i mention about myself nor state that it was in my OWN interest i am able to use the benchmark with a old crappy computer that can bearly run it at 10 FPS this still dosnt mean it was a poor move not to be included with the markets left out. also the view is lovely from my 'basement' i think i can see the sea from my window :P

I'm personally shocked that that many students don't have a PC. How do they do things like... I dunno, write essays? I know you can write things on a phone or tablet but it's not the easiest thing in the world to do, and I definitely wouldn't want to write a multi-page essay on one.

Most use pen or paper or they type it on either the university's macs or on there android tablets with software to write essays. some tablets they have are very good ones. (some even came with keyboard accsessories)

I'm going to stop you right there. you do realize a good portion of laptop and tablet users are using PC hardware right? a lot of people do not. so that question if you were vague is not the right one. yeah that's right you know that spiffy Surface Pro? guess what? it's a tablet that also happens to be a PC.

you ask a lot of people out there if they have a PC they will say "no I have a laptop" you gotta ask the right questions if you want accurate results.
simply ask.
does your tablet use windows? if yes ask which version. I suspect you will be surprised with the results
since you didn't ask if people had laptops they probably didn't think that was included in your question.

I literally have to explain to some people that a laptop is a PC with limited upgradability designed for convenience of portability

It was specified as 'windows PC' witch includes 'tablets that run Desktop OS's such as the surface pro (I.E a 'tablet' that runs windows 8)' to which there was only 7 students while the tablet option was specified as 'android or similar' which the majority of them had

Laptops were counted as PC since they are 'personal computers' mac was included but was a small number roughly 24 students had macs

so the questions were a lot more specific then what i typed up in that quote.

Hmm is it up to date with everything? I have a $200 laptop that I'm on as I type this, by no means a gaming PC and it was able to download and run it. Man was it choppy and of course got a "low" rating, as I was expecting. I just wanted to see the character creation, think I'll be sticking to my kitty.

All of this anger and aggression will magically disappear in june. Patience is a virtue. And idk how many times ppl can say this before it sinks in, its not a toy its a tool for testing pc capability. Im sorry it comes with something everyone thinks is crazy fun (idk why) but SE wouldve been stupid not to do everything they can to build hype.

Also, aside from the obvious EU restrictions, why cant you get creative if you want to join it so badly? dont you have friends with computers? all you need is a damn screenshot. You could even do it remotely with an online friend and twitch.

what mode did you have it in on the launcher? one of the PCs a friend of mine has can't do DX11 but it didn't force him to change to DX9 so when he tried to run it. it crashed till I had him switch. also some intel graphics chips don't handle some of the things DX9c/e can do so they end up crashing

a small suggestion that helps solve a lot of issues. search for and install the DirectX Runtime Redistributable from June 2010
that installer solves many headaches.
its one of the first things I install on any new install of windows.

a good thing to note is missing libraries cause crashes and microsoft wasnt exactly forthcoming about their added libraries to DX9c, they left it up to the game companies to tell people they would need the update.

It may sound silly but what version of Internet Explorer are you running? Maybe uninstall and install it again. I've had problems with the actual game in the past which gave me a black screen instead of log in options, I fixed it by reinstalling Internet Explorer.

I agree with you on this one, if you are on windows 7 you should update to IE11(or atleast IE10) even if you never plan to browse with it.

Wait does this thing actually use Internet Explorer? I never use it. I use Chrome or Firefox. Also I actually know nothing about computers so there could have been settings I missed.

Now I wish I was at home so I could try again.
