    The i70 gear was gear we got through uncapped tomes. In Heavensward wo do also get new uncapped tomes (capped tomes come 4 weeks later) + the gear we can buy with them.
    the only word we've had is "tomes introduced 4 weeks after release", unless you can quote something where they specifically said "weekly tomes"

    Also, you're avoiding the fact that it's named savage and thus would most likely require a normal clear before entering. The actual difficulty being on par with unnerfed coil has nothing to do with that

    The recent Live Letter went into it a bit. 4 weeks after release of Heavensward the weekly capped tomes (Allagan tomestones of Esoterics) will be released. Starting with early access (I'd assume as it wasn't stated otherwise) we can collect Allagan tomestones of Law (no cap).

    I expect that Alexander (Normal) will be relatively easy with an organized well geared group and mildly nightmarish in DF at least at first. Since there's something of a lock on that gear (once weekly -- presumably per section though that wasn't really spelled out) I expect it to be better than the gear from Law tomes, but probably not better than Esoteric, which will probably be on par with or slightly worse than gear from Alexander (Savage).

    I don't think people are going to be looking for bought clears of Alexander (Normal) anymore than WoD, honestly. Maybe at first, but with access being wide open and another tier of content above it I imagine most people (who are interested) will get through it the old fashioned way.

    The timeline says tomestones of esoteric with weekly lockout will get introduced 4 weeks after launch.

    But there are also tomestones of law coming without lockout. They will get available at start.

    In my eyes it would be wrong to do it this way. I did all coils before it gone DF, got echo and nerfs and I want enjoy the Alexander story like in coil before and not in the easy mode.
    There is. In one of the lives Yoshida said that clearing the normal mode and obtaining the normal mode gear is required to clear the hard mode. He is fully aware that Lucrezia pretty much pushed FCoB down in week one in mostly IL110 gear, but he is pretty sure that you will need the normal mode gear to touch the hard mode.

    The hard mode is like SCoB Savage when it was released where you want to be in the highest level gear. Yoshida said that Alex HM will be equal to savage or higher.

    Source? I've watches all live letters, read all summarys and all interviews I've found. He always stated, the "normal" mode will be for people, that want to enjoy the story, but have issues to get through the "regular" raid. Nothing about requirements for each of them. Its the answer to It's about time to add Coil story mode, isn't it ?

    No he said:

    - the hard mode will be like FCoB, but a little bit harder
    - the normal mode will be like SCoB with nerf and echo

    The Official statement was that Alex HM would have gear with a different item level and higher stats than normal. MY speculation is that due to it's higher difficulty will mean that The Average Player will need NM hear to have any hope in HM. But no, Yoshida's statement on it was a suggestion not a pre-requ. And while there are some hardcore elite FCs and Statics that could do HM right out of the gate most of us will need that "Lesser Gear" from normal to even have a fighting chance.

    To be fair, I believe this is the result that previously many RAIDERS making posts that strongly requested for re-entering the same turn in the week for their reasons. ^^;

    He'll be wrong, at least for Lucrezia.

    If you get a fixed 8k damage, and there is no way to reach 8k HP without the gear, nothing can be done :P (just for illustration purposes)

    It would have to be tuned extremely tightly. Full i110 crafted accessories melded with VIT will give you a pretty large chunk of health, so it would have to be to the point where it's impossible to meet the DPS check without full [whatever] accessories. Maybe they'll really put the effort in to make Savage extremely tightly tuned, but I just kinda doubt it, especially if they expect other raiders to clear it.
