No thanks.SE,
Please give us an option for incoming tells:
1) Accept only tells from Friends
2) Accept only tells from Linkshell
3) Accept only tells from Free Company
4) Accept only tells from Friends, Linkshell, & Free Company
5) Accept tells from everyone
I think this would help us with the RMT/BOTS Problems, and might drive them away if we were given these options.
Just block the spammers please. No need to ruin mine and everyone else's game experience with restrictive tell options.

The tells are ruining many peoples game experience and restricting social interaction by forcing people to use block all tells. Guess what they'd be personal preferences where you could pick to set them as you see fit. I'm all for allowing a tell from friends only/linkshell only option. If you prefer to keep it as it now you would have that option as well.

If it was that easy it would have been done don't you think? Option to turn off /tells from randoms would help to a certain extent.
I posted this in a thread but its how I handle RMT tells.
Turn the Chime sound off for when you get tells, Turn on the tells filter for General Tab (main chat) and then put tells in Event Tab.
So when you get a tell it won't ding. And the Event Tab will be green when you have a new tell.
Is this for everyone? No! But if you're tired of waiting for a real solution to the problem, this is the best thing I've found. If you're a chatty person this probably isn't for you.
Just be clear you won't hear the ding, you won't see tells in general chat tab, and when you do get a tell your event tab will turn green meaning you have a new tell.

Apparently it is. In another thread someone had mentioned some software that can block out spam based on text and characters. I thought SE did this already. I checked it out and sure enough, that is exactly what it does. I'm not going to go into more detail about it though. The people who use it say they never get the spam anymore. Though it only works for the PC.
