If these types of FATEs are what they mean by "Large-scale FATEs," then that may be what you are looking for.
Yeah my hope lie with the Large Scale FATE. But I don't think they will give the great big Systems of Besieged and Capaign justice.
    But only time will tell.

Which tbh, is already pretty stale >_> log on, cap tomes, log off is how 3.0 is looking to be again. People getting bored of that? Let's add more of the same thing!

And this system has caused FFXIV to be the most successful subscription based MMOs for years. Why would they change something that's working fine for them?

If you're bored of it, then stop playing, no one forces you to stay subscribed.

    Because stagnation isn't a good thing :P
You should go forward. Keep the base solid but surprise your costumers with new fres ideas so they want to stay

Because people are getting bored of that model, and I don't think it is actually currently doing that well (according to the number of FFXIV twitch viewers).

This. And it'll only get worse if they keep throwing the same stuff at us.

Exactly, there's no real staying power in XIV atm, considering every mmo pretty much does the same thing, sometimes better than XIV does. Maybe if they actually put the multiplayer back in mmo, then friends would be a staying power, but looking at fc/ls/friends list and just looking around the game in general, a lot of people don't stay long. Don't even try to argue that it's wrong, just take a look at your own fc/friends list, how many of them haven't been on in months or only played for 1-2 months and dropped XIV completely? Anyone remember a time when players wouldn't quit this fast on a mmo, especially only a year after release (tbh, a lot dropped out before 2.1 because of the model), Pepperidge farm remembers.

Some people will never be satisfied until they turn the game into a copy of FFXI but HD...

You mean a game that's lasted 12+ years on a subscription model and still makes money, unlike the vast amount of WoW model clones that die off in a few months/year? Sure sounds like XI did something right

Well I would prefer to get a few good things from FFXI over staying in an eternal loop of World of Eorzea
