Honestly, I'm not expecting any big reveals from now until release.
Honestly, I'm not expecting any big reveals from now until release.
1) They won't reveal everything at 1 live letter, they will tease us until we are like a month away ( or perhaps at E3 2015, drop the bomb then).
2) I suspect there will be some sort of content revolved around the 4 houses of Ishgard ( maybe something like Conquest in FFXI or something else)
3) They didn't go into full detail on what the FC airship content will have, so for all we know, there could be quite of few big reveals there.

I believe that every important part of Heavensward was already revealed and the flying and company airships are both huge thing if they did it right, also the two types of alexander to let casuals experience the story is a nice thing. I didn't expect many groundbreaking new mechanics in content so that's probably why I am not disappointed, all I really wanted was token system, bigger maps and flying.![]()

It's an expansion. Not a 1.0 -> 2.0 remake.
The game will likely be 2.0 again but in a different environment with a couple more features here and there. Get used to it as all further expansions will likely be the same.

I don't want an overhaul of the Game like 2.0. I want something big like every FFXI Expansion brought.
Dragons could Attack Ishgard to get Nidhogs Eye back which gives us as long as it lies in Ishard nice little bonuses.
When we loose the Attack the Eye is taken and we loose the bonuses. NPCs get kidnapped and we loose there Service and we have to go to the Dragon Nest and rescue them and get the Eye back
Well.... of course this is a total Besieged Ripoff but so that you get the idea what I want.
A big event everyone can participate in and help.
There is something called "large scale FATEs" on one of the slides. I'm guessing these may be similar to Odin or Behemoth. They might also be similar to the Attack on Highbridge or (Action) the Hive FATE chains.I don't want an overhaul of the Game like 2.0. I want something big like every FFXI Expansion brought.

Which tbh, is already pretty stale >_> log on, cap tomes, log off is how 3.0 is looking to be again. People getting bored of that? Let's add more of the same thing!

And this system has caused FFXIV to be the most successful subscription based MMOs for years. Why would they change something that's working fine for them?
If you're bored of it, then stop playing, no one forces you to stay subscribed.

Because people are getting bored of that model, and I don't think it is actually currently doing that well (according to the number of FFXIV twitch viewers).

This. And it'll only get worse if they keep throwing the same stuff at us.
Exactly, there's no real staying power in XIV atm, considering every mmo pretty much does the same thing, sometimes better than XIV does. Maybe if they actually put the multiplayer back in mmo, then friends would be a staying power, but looking at fc/ls/friends list and just looking around the game in general, a lot of people don't stay long. Don't even try to argue that it's wrong, just take a look at your own fc/friends list, how many of them haven't been on in months or only played for 1-2 months and dropped XIV completely? Anyone remember a time when players wouldn't quit this fast on a mmo, especially only a year after release (tbh, a lot dropped out before 2.1 because of the model), Pepperidge farm remembers.
