    Well, to be honest, in most PvP games ranged usually have an advantage over melee, It has always been like that.... But of course camping in one area increases that advantage... A melee can't play safe, a ranged can.

    It kind of reminds me to strategy games and defensive turrets. Once one tank runs into the enemy defenses (aka, melee unit) the turrets instantly target that tank at the same time and easily becomes the first kill.... For breaking defenses you usually need artillery, for range you need range.... Even if they'd be a class having a lot of magical resistance and arrow resistance that could get a safe approach, you're the one getting into enemy camp, enemy melees would also smash you...

    The best way in all PvP games for surviving + killing a lot, is go safe, go range. In secure this factor is less visible because a caster-bard, once taken by the reach of a melee is normally a free kill. And that can happen easier in secure because more 1 vs 1 possibility in encounters and people more scattered when not camping and going safe.
    (But, even, stills, if you're inteligent ranged, you should be able to run away quickly as soon you notice a melee you may not be able to defeat in 1 vs 1)

    Skill always plays a factor too, but advantage is always for ranged. if in a 1 vs 1 I try to run but a melee rushes into me, as BLM I can just use a PvP skill for insta sleep. If he uses purify I still having swiftcast + sleep... If no swiftcast I can go equanimity and try sleep, if he moves around for making me fail I can just bind it with blizzard 2, then easily run away or sleep him from a safe spot....

    OR... Even... PRepare fire 3 from max range position while it's sleeping, raging strikes, phantom dart, and let's try smash it. Reduce their movement speed with lethargy, you gain perhaps the enough time to burn...

    What do you propose to fix that? With Black mage being burst damage, it's really easy for them to put in quick damage when they can turret. You know...Their specialty? I promise you those black mages can't get all those kills by themselves. It takes at least two Cometeors to make anything happen where Raw Destruction can potentially OHK. The 15 Black Mages are just racking in kills because it's coordination speaking. Nothing more or less. If both GCs stopped fighting each other and push out the team that's ROFLSTOMPING everyone with this tactic, they can't do anything. They will run back down that ramp. Also the melee dying 6 times in one match need to be more aware of their surroundings. If Cometeors are flying, don't try to stick so closely to your group.

    I hope they won't continue the nerfing and job balancing. It's not the jobs/classes that are broken, it's the match mode itself that's broken.

    The best solution is to scrap 72player slaughter. It's been a joke since the start. 24player slaughter on the other hand is very enjoyable.

    They talked about a new map, hopefully it's a replacement of the 72player slaughter board and it spaces alliances out so that there can be some form of actual PvP gameplay instead of a turrenting and cure bombing zergfest.

    I hope at least.

    24 Slaughter does limit the silly BF mages, but it can still happen. Not as much though. I just hate Slaughter for the fact it's more about the stupid drones than it is anything else.

Aggressive plays by melee and tanks can be made if there isn't a third party just waiting to pick up the scraps and double team you out of the game. It promotes being passive and super ranged friendly.

    Yeah skill is huge, but that's not exactly how it works in this game for "1v1". Melee are, atm, designed to crush casters and have all the tools they need to do so.

    They only removed it cuz they didn't want healers to do any noticeable dmg. Back in WD it was sooo easy to 2v1 a tank and dps if their healer was down as a healer.
    Just pop sacred prism ( duration upgraded ) cast fluid aura on a tankif they try and cc u then proceed to burst down dps. They couldn't heal and u could easily equanamity medica 2/ regen urself.
    So literally we were killing machines lol.
    I used to do this a lot and would end up convincing my team to spare the survivng enemy tank ( the 2 dps and healer is dead ) and watch him struggle etc.
    Or let healer try and rez ppl just so we can kill them off again and again.

    Healers had too much 1v1 dominance so ppl were like staphhhhhhh they shouldn't hurt tht much. So SE listened and took out CS.

    Yes i miss it. I' trade holy for it, FL ppl ruined it with tht holy spam.

    That's kinda everyone's fault as well. You want your voice heared then participate. Speak up geeZ. I've read a lot of the live letters and you complainers don't speak up in there. Fck spam that live letter about our concern for PvP. Not just one person everyone that enjoys PvP needs to do it now before live letter is close. Everyone in here just keep on starting topic plZ SE fix Q times wahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa like a Fcking train. PlZ we want shit fix on PvP not add some maps that will just be neglected when a new map comes out. SPAM THAT LIVE LETTER AND WHO GIVES A FCK IF SAME QUESTION IS BEING ASK. WE NEED YOSHI TO SEE THAT AS A COMMUNITY FOR PVP THAT WE ARE NOT HAPPY.

    They removed it because healers are extremely tanky, cc machines, healing machines and on top of that also did a stupid amount of damage in any situation

    in otherwords, they removed it because it was overpowered, they still kick out reasonable damage if they want to

    The simple basic comes down to and which I think everyone agrees, is that GC restriction is the number one problem for causing long Q times. That BS NEEDS TO BE ABOLISH or fix.

    They could easily add a "safe zone" around the boss as long as he is up. When melees standing in it they could suffer like 50% less damage. This way they can contribute damage to down the boss without getting nuked.
