Why is Square Enix not listening to this forum?

Yea, its already sad that i have to seriously ask this question, but i think this question can and should be asked by now, since the current state of the whole pvp content in ff14 is far away from being healthy. The whole forum is flooded with threads about complaining, but we still dont see any efforts of you (Devs) to make the situation better. By now, i am already really scared to see such a messed up game mode like slaughter again in 3.0. I dont know why you talking so big about how much you love to pvp in this game, when it looks like its simply a lie.

So, why are you not listening to your pvp community?

Why are you not simply working with us to make pvp in ff14 better? For example why not involving the community with polls about future content directly in the development phase?

By now it feels like you just throwing a pvp mode together, not even testing it (Cleary you havent tested slaughter the right way. Its so broken its already ridiculous to believe you have tested it, thats being said) and then you throwing it at us, saying its supercool and we have to deal with it for 9 months, but we are not allowed to expect any major patches for it.

So at the end, please show some kind of effort and work with us together for an overall better pvp situation in this game.

I'm completely with you on this. They should give PvP a hell of a lot more attention and resources to improve it. Square Enix has the stats, I guess they feel its not important right now. For me though, I wouldn't even buy heavenward at this point, and I'm a legacy player that's been here since beta. I've been looking forward to PvP since before it was ever announced. Since the first time I did the gladiator quests.

But I'll get heavenward because I started my own PvP FC that no one joined and bought a mansion lol. But theres a CHANCE that the PvP can be something great. Its all up to SE. Its hard to convince them to give PvP the attention it deserves when there's threads like increasing bust size with hundreds of supporters, whereas for PvP it's a small minority.

    A. pvp is a very minor niche part of the overall game. it would have to gain an astronomical rise in popularity to require the devs to pay more attention.

    B. we're not on the JP section. seriously even other JP players laugh at us even trying to provide feedback cause it's a gigantic waste of time.

As the game goes on i've found myself lowering my expectations into the ground when it comes to pvp. If they're not going to care then why should I? I've just learned to live with them treating PVP as it's an irrelevant part of the game. It's truly unfortunate that we're at this point but when literally NO amount of feedback is received or even acknowledged by the devs then any effort is just wasted effort.

Agreed on all the above. And there's quite a few people in my PVP LS who were into it early on (and who like myself weren't previously "PVP'ers") but became more and more disenfranchised by the problems which pretty much ALL trace their origins back to the GC restrictions. Unnecessarily long queues, and one-sided battles. What could possibly be any worse for a game's PVP mode than that? If I didn't already know my capabilities in this area, and wasnt 95% of the way (and stuck) towards the ADS mount- like if I was trying this for the first time- one game and I'd be 'F' this!' That's why I had one Wolves Den match to my name between when it came out, and Frontlines... long wait for a sucky experience, where I couldn't see myself repeating that long wait in hopes of improving.

Yeah, to all the Triple Triad stuff, look at the changes made to that already and yet we still get Soldiery for Frontlines Roulette. I wish they had an official NPC desk representing them in game and Soldiery were represented by coins, and I could take the 2000 worthless ones in my pocket and throw them on the ground before them and say 'Take your worthless bloody Soldiery coins back, I'm not some peasant in dire need of 950 gil worth of crafting mats!' and then spin around with my cape behind me and storm off.

The last (edit - and first) dev post I've read concerning anything about PvP was the announcement of new rules in 2.5 (Slaughter).

With Patch 2.5 right around the corner (Less than a week! Hype!), we don’t want to give too much away, just know that PvP is still very much on the dev. team’s radar.
    That was Jan 15th

I don't really see Slaughter as being broken really. Things only are hectic when mages coordinate LBs and rack those kills in 72. In 24, it's not THAT big of an issue, but it's still there. The other issues I see with PVP personally is Status resists resetting fairly quickly, but there's workarounds. The biggest issue with PVP is Queue Times, PVP Ranks, Skill Point usage and Incentive to keep playing past Rank 44.

You can't spell 'Slaughter' without 'laughter'. A statement as true in regard to our game's latest PVP mode as it is in real life.
