If you don't want to fight, having a weapon or not, being powerful enough to take these guards down or not, it make no difference.

Surrendering was the best choice no matter the circumstances, us having a weapon, the number or guards or whatever.
It doesn't chance the outcome in the end.

So, then, what's your point?

Well, the final outcome is that you gtfo of Ul'dah, which is exactly what I would've done. Except, you know, I would've been able to get the rest of the Scions along with me instead of having them risk their lives. My point is that the whole sequence looks dramatic but is dumb.
