So the problem is that there is a huge grey area between single pulls and speed run. I've been running CBMHM A LOT (zodiac) as a tank as that is the quickest queue. When I get a new person bonus I almost always pull everything anyways except for that last set with the 2 frogs, 3 colbyn, and 3 giants. Other dungeons I will pull 2 at a time if there is a newb, etc. The problem is usually bosses, as new players can actually wipe the whole group with ignorance (I am not saying that in a negative way).

IMO, its the new players responsibility to ask for instructions. In my opinion, no 4-man dungeon boss in this game is too hard to get on your first try if the other 3 people know what they are doing. I have never failed to grasp a 4-man boss mechanic after seeing it one or two times, and I am going to get everyone the benefit of the doubt that they have an average or above average ability to preform - I don't want to insult your intelligence or ruin your immersion by spoiling boss mechanics.

The title of this post is accurate, and the OP got a little too salty in the text - If you are new, SAY SO. It will be so so so much better for everyone.

Like everyone else said, don't assume speedrun, ask before hand.

Not every healer is happy to heal you through 4 packs of mobs ya know, being new to a dungeon doesn't have anything to do with it.

    Get some manors.

Lately I've been noticing people asking for tips and the tanks just running on in anyway before anyone can advise that person.

Tanks clearly have the worst attitude in this game at the moment.

Trick is to not ask who is new, just who has done the run before. Those that have done it before typically will always speak up.

I usually just give quick briefs before fights for everyone -- even veterans. "Dont stand in X, attack Y" etc... Maybe two or three lines total. The only time I'll -not- do that if we've already been speed running and everything been's really smooth as far as trash/kills/etc.

It's easy to forget simple mechanics if you haven't been in a dungeon in forever. Even if it's something you know, you can be rusty at it and need a reminder or two. I know that if I haven't done Titan HM/EX in awhile, for example, I'll forget the pace of the fight and have to self-adjust during the first few land-slides, etc.

So, this shouldn't just be for new folks. Just make a rule to give a quick briefing.

And tanks should always do a test pull at the beginning anyway to see how the healer's doing. Don't just pull half the dungeon and assume they can keep you alive, even if they're geared out.

I fail to see what housing has to do with anything here.

No but what people are saying is if it says "newb in the party beware !!" then naturally be aware.

Sometimes people don't want to be singled out, tanks used to be notorious for ditching parties if someone was new lets not forget.

Actually, I feel the exact opposite. I don't go sit the new guy down at work, tell him I want something and then walk off without explaining how the systems/everything works. New players are new players, I like the game, I want to see it do well, saying a few lines to someone to let them know you can help IF they need it can go a long way to making them think the community aint all bad.

If I see the newbie bonus flash across the screen, I'll just say 'Let me know if you want to know boss mechanics' and that's it. That's all it takes, if they say nothing then I go ahead and pull according to the gear the group has.

Tip, Just dont speed run in DFs. If you must speed run, you might wanna make a PF. Even as a long time player, I'll sometimes allow the Tank to run off only to end up killing themselves if I dont want a speed run. "You might wanna ask your HEALER if a speed run is ok." As far as info on fights gos its very easy to give a brief idea of most fight in this game. "Dont stand in AOEs" works about 98% of the time.
