Calling the fights goofy isn't very generous given that a lot of them are just like every other fight in this game. Just a little different with a different tweak. You don't hear people complaining about the EX primals nearly as much even though their fights are far "goofier."

The thing about coil is that there are numerous threads that state you don't need raid groups/statics or much interest in endgame to do it. I do it so I can have pretty gear. I didn't originally join any statics for that. I just went into learning parties and then clear parties.
And I always wonder about statements like that...not meant to be beaten or enjoyed by most of the player base...
When I look around my server and the people who do WoD and the other Crystal tower stuff, I see High allagan pieces everywhere. Nearly everyone has at least one piece (yourself included, Fran). So obviously it is meant to be beaten with some effort and it's enjoyed by a lot more. Just because you don't see their point doesn't mean others don't.

And this is their fault. The entitlement of the "casual" rivals that of the "elitists", I swear. I made it to FCoB without a static and given by the pugs we pick up every week, there are others too. SE isn't withholding anything from anyone. People are withholding it from themselves. Even if you have time obligations that pull you away from forming a static, you can pug learn it and pug win it. It just takes effort. Why should you get everything without any effort?

While I won't say "git gud" and leave you to your own devices, I repeat that I did not get anywhere with a static until recently. I literally stopped sitting around with friends the instant I saw whatever learning party I needed was up. I jumped on it. I made friends put up PF because I was too shy to do it myself. We learned.

Someone else shouldn't be responsible for taking you under their raider wing and teaching you. I understand that you'll try your hardest and I'll see it but I won't be the person to randomly start a learning party to teach newbies. If you want it, you have to work for it. Ragequitting and such is a fact of all MMOs, don't let it define the path you take as a gamer within this community.

It's not. It so truly is not. I can watch a guide and still fail in under two moves and get us killed in the pull. However, watch a guide and you won't be left standing around, twiddling your thumbs, when you have the Shriek icon next to your name in T7. It's not the job of others to make sure you're informed of the fight. There should be an expectation of completion when you go into DF and you won't get that if you know that people come in completely blind to everything. People who just didn't bother. The mechanics in the fight aren't supposed to be learned in one go... Just like the primals for relics, you'll end up on the floor and carried at best. At worst? You'll cause wipes again and again.

Watch a guide so you have a clue. If I see improvement, I personally won't get upset. If others rage, then they fall under the category earlier of people who are just always a problem. I can say that in a majority of the SCoB DF parties I've been in, as long as people didn't come in completely raw and seemed like they were getting it, we kept at it.

I started this game last April... To date, the only time I've ever seen anyone yell at others for watching cutscenes is Praetorium and Castrum. Both those places are different beasts if you watch the cutscenes. From what I've seen, people are fine enough letting people watch the cutscene their first time in BCoB and SCoB. It's a given that you watch them in FCoB.

I'm gonna have to disagree here. Not because of it being a bad decision but it being considered so integral. The story is cool, yeah, but it's literally not mentioned ANYWHERE else besides while in Coil or unlocking the next one. Everyone in Eorzea (including the Scions and the twin Alphinaud) go about their days completely not mentioning a thing about what you learn down in coil. It's practically noncanon.

I've played and watched all of the cutscenes to the main scenario. The EX primals have more to do with it than any coil. They never wonder what happened to certain people, they never mention Bahamut, they never do anything. It's not a part of anything main story wise. It's just another piece of a different story.
