No to story mode Coil. It would completely void the point of every tackling anything difficult in future dungeons. Getting the story to it should feel like an achievement not a right. Suck less, Get good, Get the end of the story line.

I don't understand why this is even a discussion. They gave everyone story mode by beating the first and second coil to death with a Nerf bat. If mechanics aren't learned how are you supposed to learn and improve for the next coil. Learning to deal with mechanics is what makes you a better player so you don't struggle with the nex t content.

Would anyone else like to field this or should I?I don't understand why this is even a discussion. They gave everyone story mode by beating the first and second coil to death with a Nerf bat. Even Blizzard realized the importance of allowing non-raiders to see the story line (LFR), and you can play through all of WoW without having a god damn clue what you're killing or why you're killing it. SE not having a no-loot-2EZ story mode DF of coil has always been surprising. Especially since the game gates you behind story quests throughout it. There is a lot of story building and "do story plz," while you level then the game is like "lol just kiddig get gud to read dis one." It's a bizarrely huge disconnect.

I get that even non raiders want to see story but the story is kinda part of the reward. I mean even in single player games you have to beat it to see the ending. They have made them very easy.
Really? I thought the reward was the gear, like every other RPG known to man where bonus/optional dungeons have the best gear and have no bearing on the main story.
Why do people think that they have the right to make decisions regarding this game at all? The development team has proven more than once it will do exactly what it wants to do and not much else. If they choose to add storyline they do...dosent affect me. If they choose not to..oh well again doesnt affect me. However, if the content is implemented then who am I to say others cant enjoy it? Or insult them because they pay to play a game the way they wish to? At the end of the day none of it really matters because people who want to take the time to be skilled will and the ones who dont wont. Not worth all this argument.

Someone's missing the point here. I think what some people really want is to "Just see the Story" without the goofy Coil fights. Some players don't care about Coil, raids, raid groups, statics and endgame stuff. Some players just wanna enjoy "The Story of the Game" without the hassles of joining groups or static or silly coil battles not meant to be beaten or enjoyed by MOST of the player base. These types of players won't try coil without nerfs or easy story modes. Why?, maybe they got family and a real life. We'll never know. Well...I don't mind an easy/story mode coil, who's it hurting. No one. And its kinda silly to withhold story and lore has a Reward in a RPG, in fights many players never get to try. You do get gear as a Reward right??? Why isn't that good enough for you?? when we get Alex the old coil will left in the dust forgotten, why not share the story then?
Indeed, at least with Heavensward being released, they could add story mode coils. The nerfing only does so much - sure, a lot of mechanics are removed, maybe even the damage reduced as such. But if the chains of instant-...no, not even instant death, simply, but instant wipe mechanics are still left in, things like the Echo or 50ilvl higher gear won't help anything.
And to everyone who shrugs it off with "git gud" - okay. Alright. Take me on, teach me, and I promise I'll try my hardest to. Because, honestly, one can't evolve if people just expect full knowledge of all the fights by default and ragequit after the first wipe. And no, don't tell me to go watch guides, it's not damn cooking. Also kinda hypocritical when on the other side I'm just yelled at when I want to watch the actual in-game cutscenes.
Bottom line, imo, it was just a bad decision to begin with, to put such an integral part to the main scenario in the hardcore endgame raid.
