These polls hold zero value for either side of the argument on limits, because we have no facts to base a poll on. All we have is the word 'mastery'. Nothing else. Just that. There is no informed voting here.

When exactly have anyone said different ?Not at all, since to me when they talk about mastering a single craft isn't limiting your ability to level all the crafts to the max level possible and still repair your and your guildmates gears and make most of the items. If you are willing to go through leveling all of them for that purpose, you are not greedy. I get the mastering concept just giving you an edge in a specific craft of your choice maybe making you HQ more in it or idk special crafts.
Of course, they need to balance them all because some are more valuable than others, why do you think this wasn't even officialy said? This whole mess of a debate is sparked by speculations.
Didi you even read the OP?
the matter is the poll have won to one side, dont be a sore looser , if you still think it does not means anything , then leave it at that ,
With the list that you provided, you just contractic yourself saying that you are all for some restrictions... clearly you are all about no restrictions at all. I'm not saying you are not right about some of them, but we are talking about character defining restrictions here, not game and mechanics. This is outdated but i posted this about how limited and how many restrictions this game actually have a while back. You can add to the list everyone looks the same because of no rank requirements.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...han-it-helps-.
well you are the first person to complain about "my poll" , there already thousands pages explaining why should we vote on a speculation i dont feel like explaining it again.
edit: they are working on it i understand , but stupid restrictions are just that.
it holds value to the developers if they ever are smart enough to look at what their player base want.
if they think (in the current state) a money maker mechanic is better than what their player base wants , well then i have nothing more to say.
You think the forums are just to complain about how stupid the person next to you is ? . No the forums are for guides and to help make the game better for the majority of players , since you can never please everyone.
Honestly Zkieve, I am not a sore loser, I did not even vote. I do not care what they go for ultimately, I am just not agreeing with most of the arguments presented.
You asked what restrictions this game had, i showed it on a 4 months old post. This arguing is leading anywere . You say this poll holds no value , i say it does more than any complain thread this forum is made off. With the list that you provided, you just contractic yourself saying that you are all for some restrictions... clearly you are all about no restrictions at all. I'm not saying you are not right about some of them, but we are talking about character defining restrictions here, not game and mechanics.
you wont budge nighter will i . lets leave it at that.past this point we both would be just repeating ourselfs.
I understand your point i just dont agree with it.Same way you dont agree with mine.

No, it doesn't. We don't even know what they mean, let alone how far along it is. We don't know what it entails, if anything, at this point. You're tilting at windmills and jumping at shadows here. You have no facts to base a poll or opinion on, and spouting how it 'helps the devs, herpdederp' is horse crap. You can't call it anything, let alone a moneymaker, until you have facts. FACTS. Not this 'I think' or 'I believe' stuff you keep spouting off. This thread is actually worse than a religious debate at this point and serves no purpose other than as a vehicle for misinformation.it holds value to the developers if they ever are smart enough to look at what their player base want.

PS: What's the 'current state' of this mechanic? Do tell.
I was skeptical of what I was voting for so I didn't vote initially and decided to read the thread... and now I don't think I want to vote at all because of what you just said. We need to know what we're voting for. This is the problem with reading too much into translated tidbits, they can be out of context and/or mistranslated to mean something different. Until I know what they mean by 'mastery' I'm not going to say I'm for either side.
To the conceptual idea of it however, I think this goes along with many others point of view, I would like to be able to rank up multiple classes just for the sake of being able to be able to make sub-materials and things for a main craft but I'd also like my "main" craft to be something distinguishing. If and when I ever get leatherworking to 50, because that's the craft I like the most in the game, Its a little less special when you talk to someone else who's like "Oh I have this... and... and... and... and... and... rank 50 crafts." For someone like me its more of wanting to feel like being of one craft is an achievement and a specialty vs being one of the every-other-crafter because they all have that craft and more mastered.
Mastering a craft is something that should be difficult and exclusive and set a player apart from most everyone else.
I would hate having only one class, as I would often need sub components from other classes just to make something that I may or may not be only making to lvl
you dont get it , ill try one more time. No, it doesn't. We don't even know what they mean, let alone how far along it is. We don't know what it entails, if anything, at this point. The current state is when they decide to add mastery they have enough feed back on what the player base wants based on all of OUR speculations.
is it really that hard to understand.
ALSO.
Once an idea have been put into place and put in development THERE IS NO TURNING BACK.
i rather prevent that with my limited resources , that are just freedom of speech.
if you dont understand this , then i have no other way to explain it to you.
edit: do you really think when they say ok we gonna do this, and release patch note they gonna remake it no matter how much uproar we make ?
maybe in a different game. For this one is to late.We already late with development.
