So black mages who think they are tanks can look like tanks...
no thanks
just give us more choices in gear.
SE have gotten super lazy with the gear sets, since.. well Myth i90 gear.
My scholar is not a white and shouldn't have to look like one.
fix that first.
I don't know why your against this. Changing current glamour restrictions will give you both the things you want.
You're making it sound like everyone is gonna run out and glamour themselves in tank gear.
The people who are mages and think they are tanks die for a reason and then get yelled at.
I can agree with wanting more options in gear sets, MNKs and DRGs literally share the same gear and if we're lucky there is a color palette change >_> I'm looking at you CT gear, but we should also be lucky with the gear we have. They don't literally sit at a computer just pressing buttons and boom new armor, there is a lot of thought and design that goes into some of it
they probably will, I'm having one of those moments where I'm having no faith in the game's community.
Still don;t want it to happen, anything that says "lnc/drg" or "thm/blm" in the item description should stay for that class, even if it is just glamour.
I'd rather have more gear sets made than the 1-2 new sets we get each patch, most of which are "uniforms" (i.e. all match each other) and/or are currently just recolours, pallatte swaps or look like gear that we already have. look at the WoD gear, it's lazy design again. the BLM set has a pointy witch's hat ... again!! AND looks like recolour of the healers set.
i want more gear sets, with variety in them, by all means SE design a BLM set with armour as part of it, or tank gear that looks like heavy chainmail robe. BUT what I don;t want to see is restrictions lifted so any class can run around glamoured like specific gear from anther class. I wont pick on tanks again... so, I wouldn;t be best pleased to see a WMN glamoured in i90 DRG wyrm gear for example.
I mean, there is nothing wrong with having no faith in the community, but the community is not one person. Yes you're gonna have your usual assholes, trolls, all around smartasses. The people who really care though it's not about "Haha I'm a BLM in tank armor". They just want more in depth personalization of their characters, while still maintaining the class that they prefer most or "embodies" them. So yes, maybe some people that means a mage in armor, but not everyone, just like how to some tanks, running around naked means being a PLD or WAR, it's just how it is.
And lets face it, every single class thinks they can tank, not just mages, EVERY. SINGLE. CLASS, and we know they can't, but they don't care
Considering YoshiP shot this down in an earlier live letter. It needs to stay the way it is to prevent class confusion.
Seeing as tanks can already wear mage gear wouldn't there already be class confusion now?
Yoshi-P's answer was very flawed which is why players are speaking up.
Below level 50 Tanks are able to wear mage robes, tunics, tabards, Jerkins, heavy armor, plate mail, Scale Mail etc, crafting gear.
Mages can ONLY wear robes and some crafting gear We are asking merely for SE to ease off on the restrictions a little and let us wear things like Rainmaker's Tunic
It wouldn't cause anymore confusion than a tank wearing Vintage Robe and a Woolen Hat

This thread has already addressed the, "prevent class confusion" bit multiple times. That answer is simply a load of non-sense considering they say that, and then implement things to the contrary. I also really despise this answer in that it's a word smithed way for SE to say, "We think all of you are a bunch of idiots that have no hope of discerning the simplest of things."

Oh man, I can't tell if that's a tank or mage. I think it's a tank though. I saw the sword and the shield so I put two and two together, and I'm guessing this person is a tank maybe? I'm so confused, halp me SE, I'm two stewpid to figer this 1 out.
