Please, no more job restrictions for glamour.

I can agree that I would like to have glamour restrictions removed, there are some armor I'd like on my MNK, or even the new Wootz armor, for DRG, looks awesome, but I can't put it on my WAR where I really want it, but I do think it needs to be withing reason. I'm not saying Mages can't wear actual armor, but I feel like seeing a BLM or WHM running around wearing Noct armor would kinda destroy the ambiance or however it be put about the class, that being said it is a bit hypocritical as yes, you see WAR/PLD running around as Snowmen or even half naked for, if not pretty much naked for that matter destroying the atmosphere around that class too, but that still somehow being acceptable over vice versa, but I still think there does need to be some base restriction on just how far apart you can glamour the armor. Ah, but sorry people I ended up rambling on my first forum post

I entirely agreed with you hence why I have not refuted the arguments of other people who posted in this thread who are all valid in some way.

My point is not to remove ALL restrictions. That would be an unreasonable request worthy of being ignored and clearly a risky move for the devs (who will never think about doing such a thing) thus nullifying all logic and support brought forth to support this idea. What I want is despite the stats of an item, increase the the amount of jobs that can wear it while still keeping a logic behind the options.

For example, Amon's set is locked to bards but Amon himself is a spellcaster! Why lock the suit of a magician to only bards? It's frustrating and lacks logic. Same goes with the Kirimu Coat (locked to bards again) who's original owner was a gunner with a sword. Same goes with also the monk armor from CT which is clearly a full set of plate armor... An armor tanks can't wear. These sets were assigned to those jobs merely because there was nothing else that could fit them... Not because it was the "vision of the game". Yoshida's answer in the live letter is a blatant attempt to hide a lack of any logical explaination behind a pretty words that everyone will buy and defend easily.

If they wanted to make it even better they would make event gear un-glamourable and then you guys would have even more to whine about.

The game is only a year old, an expansion is on the way, you're going to be getting a myriad of new options to look cool, and at the same time, look like your class.

That's not really what we were talking about. (And if you agree with what the Devs have in place and we're saying that the devs system makes no sense and you defend it by saying how YOU were able to make something unique that you liked in the system then I'd say you're missing the point. Also ... if you think MORE restrictions are better I would say you don't even agree with the devs on this).

To clear it up, Imma Tank. As shown in this thread, I objectively have the most things to pick from. I'm also not against wearing stuff that "looks like my class" aka Plate Gear. In fact, I liked a lot of plate gear when I was leveling up. But I liked it in that "it didn't look ugly" way. It's nice and run-of-the-mil leveling stuff that everyone has. Once in the higher levels though, I find the metal gear to look uninspired. All of it ... except for this elite GC gear I have only seen on my server once (likely cause all the tanks run with the Storm like me and had the awesome idea to wear the Storm elite coat gear ... making it far from unique).

You may be able to make something unique that you like in the current system ... but that's you. Sure, I could make some plate gear that looks "unique" (as stated above, I never see anyone with that Flames gear on)... but unless I wanna change GC for ME there's not really any option but to look outside of that type of gear if I wanna make something that looks unique that I also like and find fitting for my character. Which is why I looked into jackets and coats before going to my bikini and war skirt. (Soooo no, wouldn't call that lazy ... I just can't get the things I want so I settled on something that works for my character.)

I would like for you to explain how these tops

New gear is great however unless the current restrictions are looked into there are still going to be many pieces of gear (both new and old) that I would love to wear (And would in no way ruin the 'integrity' of my class) that I can't for reasons that make no sense.

True enough, some of my friends were discussing this earlier, such as making all DoM gear available to all DoM, same as with all DoW for all DoW. For mages in that instance it could work, pure and simple, there is really no reason that it couldn't work. For DoW it might be a bit more technical as you're going into different levels are armor, that being said though it becomes very blurred, as you said, the MNK armor from CT is pure and simple plate mail, I mean there is no, oh maybe it's not, it is XD. I think at it's base point though opening up glamour like that would be a definite starting point for having more glamour options, but when it comes to AF class armor, I am perfectly fine with that being as it is, I understand that is special armor, the embodiement of that class so to speak, so I don't think it should be shared amongst classes

This would be a huge step in the right direction. However I would also like to see leather armor opened up to mages as well as many of the lighter steel armors.

Actually I wouldn't complain about that at all. It would make more sense to restrict that versus restricting everything else under the sun.

Indeed, but in this case the idea is that the overuse of the restrictions does not become a continuing trend.

Best example ever... Look at Dark Souls. Mages can wear armors and warriors can wear robes... Yet... Despite every possible combinations I've seen... My immersion was never broken.
