    Queue into DF as healer = get tanks that pull single packs and take mini breaks inbetween each pull. Or you get the tanks that try to go fast but end up dying because they don't know how to look at group composition and pull appropriately (no, you should not pull the entire zone when your DPS composition is BRD and MNK or if your BLM has an average ilvl of 70).

    Queue into DF as tank = get healers that never bother to weave in and out of Cleric stance to add damage / Stoneskin @ 20% HP of last mob for continuous pulls

    You really just can't win no matter what when you queue solo DF.

    If tank pulls big packs w/o asking first... I let them die. If DPS don't control their DPS... I let them die DGAF. XD Coincidentally you only see this type of tank and/or DPS behavior on NA worlds, what does that say? (I play chars on both sides of the fence so I can speak with authority)

    I prefer tanks to move fast. The only bad things that can happen with this tanking is if the tank is an idiot and doesn't take regen or medica off from the last fight and face pulls a massive group >.>.

    I've had some good tanks that pull a lot and know when they don't have aggro though. Just so many bad tanks going in to roulette for the daily gil bonus.

    I feel this is a major problem with the new relic quest going on now. Making level 50's go down to lower levels makes doing them a pain. Tanks (item level 110-115) trying to speed run AV with newbie (Item level 45-48) healers is silly. I think people forget about the level sync and press on ahead causing wipes to party. In the future I'd like this quest to only place members who are on the quest with other members in the same boat in a special Q.
    Its kinda unfair for leveling people to have deal with overgeared players in a rush.

    It all depends upon party formation; as a main Whitemage (i110), I had bad situations with tanks:

    1. Qarn (Hard): Tank i86-ish.. pulling what ever he can! I barely keep him alive!! The good thing that both Ninja & Blackmage were well geared (i112+) otherwise it would have been a bad run. Note: Tank died twice.

    2. Snowcloak: Tank i110+.. pulling -as usual practice now- but having two melees average i90-ish.. we wiped!

    on the other hand, one run in Snowcloak; we had two super geared Blackmages.. the run was like cutting a block of butter with a hot knife.

    Overall, I hate large pulls. I hated and still hate Brayflox (Hard) of this, if I get it as roulette I just apologize and leave duty.

    No its everyone's job to understand how as many parts of the game as they can to function optimally.

    If a tank can understand his groups gear limitations, predict skill levels based on previous pulls, and manage a rogue regen or an accidental/troll pull, they should strive for it, and strive to clear the dungeon as fast as they can. All while balancing the speed and size of pulls to optimize the risk vs time to clear equation. Why would you strive to do anything less? What is the enjoyment in being mediocre?

    The same goes for healers balancing dps/healing, or god forbid if CC became more important do a third task (oh noes).
    The same goes for DPS understanding the healers job or the tanks job to improve the groups functioning.

    I mean If you want to play the game like a Macy's cashier, doing the bare minimum to get by........ I guess..?

    Sorry dont expect me to holy the train you pulled and heal two twats don't bother dodge shit screaming and yelling at me for cures .... I hate idiot tanks don't bother to check the party members ...selfish twats .

    Wish se could toss them special server where they get to abuse each other forever , what a freaking headache to deal with selfish players thinking we bunch of NPC obeying them with everything screw that :/

    Fast or slow, you're getting the same amount of tomes.

    Also, this is a pretty much never-ending argument, so I'll encourage you to look to older threads of a similar nature for very good input on both sides of the argument. Now on a personal note, pick any role, I pretty much hate speed running - that is, the old fashioned, "pull everything and aoe til they're dead" methods. That worked when we were all i90-100s running i55 dungeons. Expert dungeons are i80 (in perspective, T5 is i83); enemies hit back now, and not even the best healer can heal more damage coming in from 6 or more enemies than damage going out.

    Also, there's a big difference between can and should. You CAN run things faster, generally with larger risks of wipes, but SHOULD you always? I mean, I CAN DPS as a healer, but SHOULD I always? I CAN tank as a Bard, but SHOULD I?

    Plain and simple, you feel pressured to run something a particular way you're not comfortable with or dislike? Drop party. Who cares about tomes? Whether that run or the next, you're going to end up getting the same amount regardless. Start with 0 on a Tuesday, you're going to stop at 450 whether still Tuesday or next Monday. So if you have to, eat the timer. Tank or not, don't let someone else decide how you should have to run a dungeon. Worst case scenario, find like minded individuals in party finder and run with them. You can do ex roulettes as a premade now, thankfully.
