    you have to remember though, Paladins are able to cure naturally, its job description in every fantasy game I've ever seen. Is a tank able to heal, YES; should it be as well as a healer (Only in wow.) However, they SHOULD be able to heal better then they do;
even leveling, PLD should be boss at solo/duo content... they should be able to keep themselves and a dps alive with minimul fuss unless they pull stupidly. as it is, PLD who use it see small useless cures that take 5-8 cures to top someone off (ie not under 50% health) if no healer is present/dc/afk/whathaveyou it should be 5-8 cures from 10% life, factoring in crits.
sorry about the ramble, its just a broken ability for paladins and it bugs me a lot.

Hmmm, no, if you've really played FFIV DS, you can't say Cure is pointless. It's easy to heal more than one thousand HP with a single Cure at lvl99 and more than two thousands with Cura.
In the DS remake, Cecil is ridiculously overpowered..

Yes, it's nice, and don't forget that sometimes, you don't have a WHM to heal, wether because it's dead or you don't have one in the group. It would be if we can take care of some backup heal, and we're far from it now.

This is maybe why we should have battle raise. If the WHM goes down, and you have no SMN in the group (4 man), then just wipe. If we could toss the rez to the heals, that would be nice. Just a thought.

    Hmmm...
Slightly tangential but if such things as better cures or a combat raise were to be implemented for PLD it would probably be necessary to have them have something that stops them from having their casting interrupted asides from popping Hallowed.
Maybe adding an effect like Sure Cast's to Awareness or Tempered Will. That way PLD spell casting would be more possible when tanking and it would provide more utility for those CD's which many find to be underwhelming or too situational.

The "battle" raise should simply be abolished. It's stupid than CNJ needs a trait while ACN can cast in combat with no issue.
In fact, they should have replace this trait with an Area Stoneskin (Out of combat only) and not create Stoneskin II.

    It's not stupid..

CNJ needs a trait for combat raise because raise is a cross class skill. the trait is meant to allow only CNJ to do combat raise.
ACN resurrection can't be cross class, thus there's no need for a trait to make it class specific since it already is.

i find cure useful for solo-play. you really shouldn't need it in group content, but you never know >_> in any case, it's very useful for solo-play. trying to solo a FATE and low on HP? pop Convalescence and heal yourself ^_^

Yes it's a cross-class...and the only job that can use it is PLD

And by the way, by the time CNJ can even "battle" raise, it's only two levels before jobs totally replace classes.

And there's only ONE content where you can battle raise and still uses classes. So, basically, the trait is made so that Conjurer is the only one who can use Raise during battle in Haukke Manor.
    Not really worth it...

Good point, but SMN is a branch off of ARC and resurrection is part of the skill set. Why wouldn't a SMN be able to use it? For the classes/jobs Raise or Resurrection are not native on is where the problem lies. I suppose the purpose for CNJ only combat raise is, to keep it special. I think we are past that though and would prefer some utility out of it. A PLD with the ability to raise during battle is more than welcome in my opinion, in a number of situations. However this is off topic. Cure is the focus of this thread. If we were to have it, it would need to be tweaked a bit to be useful.

Hmm, this is an interesting idea. I'd say make battle raise an inherent trait in the CNJ raise (Giving PLDs a better reason to use raise in cross class) and give CNJ a different trait instead. IDK... just something. IDK what CNJ might be lacking, but I am sure something is, they're a healer after all. This way, Paladins can raise in combat, but don't give PLD anything like swift or sure cast either. Instead, this would be a different worth while reason to use Hallowed Ground besides an "Oh snap" button. Healer goes down? You're probably gonna die. But wait! Hallowed Ground and start raising the healer. The day is saved, but better make the second chance count, cause it can't be done again for another 7 minutes. Though, this should probably be cross checked for any balancing issues between Paladin and Warrior. As for cure, I would rather not see this buffed or increased or made better, not unless we want to give Glad a second job they can switch to like Summoner having Scholar. I'm not a healer, my main job isn't healing, and that is the forbidden realm of the healer that I shall not venture or tread on on penalty of death and dismemberment. In fact, the cure thing, I wish I had an in combat raise instead, please take away my cure and give me in combat raise instead! Much much more worth it.

Also, the whole second job thing I don't see working. At most, I'd see a second job for Glad being a dps class, but that's it. At least in case of SMN and SCH, you have the fact that both are magic classes, both use pets, and both get boosted in their respective requirements due to job skills without much work being required to do so. SCH can still dps a little and SMN can still heal a little, but it isn't so much that one over shadows the other. With a tank, especially a paladin that has so many defensive skills coming from Glad, you'd have to really really rework the base class first before even a possibly mediocre healer could come from it. Even then, you have the issues with stat alignments that summoners and scholars already have to deal with, plus armor and weapon useage. Frankly, I don't see a healing class coming from Paladin. In fact, with the way the trend is currently going, Warriors are better suited.

I mean, at least with Scholar/Summoner, I put all my ACN stats into Mind because IMO, it's better to have a slightly gimped dps than a gimped healer. With a Paladin/Healer, either one of them being gimped is just terrible.
