The point isn't to carry. It's to allow experienced people to fill in small hole(s) in a party (e.g. Replacing an underperformer) in order to help out.They've already said the expansion won't nullify your 130 gear, it'll just be entry level gear for lvl 60, which you'll upgrade from with tomes or endgame content.
Big problem with this lockout system is that it's fundamentally useless. One player cannot carry 7, so all they'll be is a hanger on that brings the party down in some way, and it just gets worse as you add more.
Zero benefit, only detracts from rewards. Good job.
This way, people are still encouraged to earn wins without being carried.
