entry lockout get removed, loot lockout get added, how i understand itAs far as I've heard lockout is being eased in 4 days.
I usually just use twitch to diagnose the problems of other groups. As for training value, I can see the benefits of that if you're missing a few members and just want to jump in for practice. As stated in the question: To help teach people mechanics, that's the purpose of it. We have our core raiding group in FC and then a few friends/family there too. At times we're trying to help them with Turns they haven't completed but it's very hard to try and diagnose the exact issues they're having without seeing them play the turns first hand. I imagine most groups with this will actually just use this to have extra time training on the turns and then if they get close to the bosses, 5% say, just wipe it.
The way it said the lockout will work in 2.45 according to the JP interview is if you can go back and help people for FCoB that you are locked out of for no loot. However each person you take that has already cleared gives a -25% chance to drop loot. For example if you take 2 people who have cleared there is a 50% chance you won't get each loot drop. If you take 4 people who have cleared no loot will drop at all for the 4 people who have not cleared yet.
I'd imagine that when they remove the loot lockout for the final part of CT, that they may do something like this. I also would not be surprised if they also moved poetics to the same place that sol is now.
If I recall reading correctly:
You can only roll on loot that is dropped the FIRST time you cleared it.
You're able to do FCoB as many times as you want, but I don't think you can keep doing that turn until a piece you need drops (think pre CT/ST lockout).
The last I heard was the -25% per person loot penalty system that was in the game watch interview its nothing like CT or ST lockout.
They will remove every FCOB lockout by the time the expansion hits and apply similar lockouts to the next raid. the weekly lockout is getting thrown out as of 2.45 in favor of a loot lockout.
Poetics Tomestones will then replace Soldiery Tomestones, Soldiery Tomestones will be transferrable into Poetics Tomestones, Mythology Tomestones will be erased from the game entirely to be replaced with a brand new currency for the new raids, everything that dropped soldiery will then start dropping a reduced amount of poetics, all the content that once dropped poetics will drop a reduced amount of the new currency, new dungeons/raids/trials will drop higher amounts of the new currency, etc.
The cycle will continue. It always does.

I guess if they ease up the rules for the Lockout, it will be handled similarly to the syrcus tower. you enter the dungeon, but you are not able to roll on the loot.As far as I've heard lockout is being eased in 4 days.
Not really, when you enter syrcus tower no one is punished if you are actually new to syrcus towerwith 2.45, as a "static-less" player, you won't be able to benefit from a potential loot if your friends or fc mates come to help you with fcob, it's all over again the same problem : get your 8 man static team or accept to be left out in a way in the only end-game content of the game.
I feel sorry for players who are new to the mmo genre and new to FFXIV because they never tasted the "free to do whatever I want, whenever I want and with whoever I want".
I played FFXI for 8 years and I'm going to cite FFXI as an exemple because the end-game scene was working very well and the players were able to handle a lot of differents situations.
You could do multiple teams composed by different players and not always the same amount of, not always the same faces but still managing to get things done like Sky / Sea / Einherjar / Dynamis / ZNM / Abyssea and more... It was giving a true meaning of having a strong community and in some cases you could even team up with a another "friendly-outsider" community to progress.
In FFXIV, none of the above is possible, we got duty finder with strangers, 1 x 8 men endgame content once a week and the pleasure for casual players to enjoy great "party-finder-experiences" if they want to progress into fcob, such frutrations :x
It's kind of sad considering the huge potential FFXIV have right now, I'm looking forward at 3.0 and hope to see this feeling of freedom with end-game finally coming back.
