SE Please Stop. Dialogue that Presumes My Sexual Orientation Breaks Immersion.

Considering how much the original topic of this thread seems to have meandered, I'm hoping this is still on-topic:

My character's headcanon reaction to being asked to look over the Miqo'te Beauties was "Eh, kinda nice I guess, but a little too reliant on their outfit". It was also my headcanon that she burst out laughing at the guy's reaction when he was told the real reason they seemed interested in him.

I think anyone who believes that should try "asking for another woman's opinion" in the same way. But, regardless, do you think that your argument solves the fact that my immersion was broken by this? People see things different ways. I'm not asking you to agree. I just want SE to consider not making every cutscene with a male perspective (Ze Puff Puff also comes to mind).

They're assuming that because you're a woman, you too will know beauty when you see it. They're asking for your professional opinion as a woman on whether those "Miqo'te beauties" are worthy.

Yeah. It seems like the OP is trying to find a reason to be upset here and taking it all out of context. I've had a number of quests where I (A female character) have had other female characters blatantly hit on me. This game is hardly funneling you down a one size fits all gender identity for attraction where a male and female is the only option. Don't get so bent out of shape about. It's not like this was advertised as an immersive Role Playing experience. If that's what you expect with tons of branching dialogue then you picked up the wrong game. This game was never advertising as such and your expectations do not match reality.

Well, it helps my immersion more because my character IS into girls. So if they "fix" it for you, it would then end up breaking my immersion.

Someone is going to be left out no matter how they do it. Might as well just enjoy the times when it works in your favor and shrug it off when it doesn't.

Notice there isn't a way to make it so that both of those do not get complaints.

But it's really your own perception that the quest text/dialogues mean what you think it does. As others have pointed out, though, it's more than possible for a man or woman to see that another person of the same gender is attractive without it inferring anything about their actual sexuality and preferences. And you know what... this is a virtual world where the setting here doesn't seem to make a big deal over gender expectations. Perhaps you should try to keep that in mind and just be a little more open minded about things.

The Duel Personalities Quest is the most recent example. Why is my female character dropping to one knee beside the NPC to check out the "Miqo'te beauties?" I was going to suggest different dialogue for male/female characters in these situations but I think that could still be an issue. Maybe we can find some other solution?
