These guys get it.This. Although I'm gay, in real life I can objectively look at a woman and think: wow, she's gorgeous - amazing figure, handsome face; a true beauty. There's absolutely no feelings after that. In reality, I think a lot of people of the same sex can say that about their own gender, without feeling alienated about it
I think anyone who believes that should try "asking for another woman's opinion" in the same way. But, regardless, do you think that your argument solves the fact that my immersion was broken by this? People see things different ways. I'm not asking you to agree. I just want SE to consider not making every cutscene with a male perspective (Ze Puff Puff also comes to mind).
They can't ensure every player's immersion will remain pure and untainted, perhaps you are overreacting a bit here.I think anyone who believes that should try "asking for another woman's opinion" in the same way. Our loc team sometimes gets a bit ridiculous with the "ye olde" talk, very often I see myself ignoring quest dialog to avoid a headache, it seems like no one in this company knows what a middle ground is, they have to take everything to the extremes.

I'm more bothered by the fact that the dialogue options we DO have assume we use vocabulary that the average english speaker doesn't know the definition to.
"Mummery" for instance.
i agree with the original poster. Most of the people who say it's an overreaction would have far different opinions if their male characters were constantly forced into pseudo-romantic situations with male NPCs.
1) Can you really defend your use of the word "constantly" here?
2) What even is "pseudo-romantic?" That's such a far-reaching and generally applicable term towards any social interaction that it's practically meaningless.
3) To actually answer you, though: no, even if the first two points weren't relevant, I wouldn't care that much if I were "constantly" "forced" into "pseudo-romantic" situations.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
Wow. So defensive. You should calm down. I think you're just overreacting.1) Can you really defend your use of the word "constantly" here?

So I overreacted to an overreaction about a perceived but actually nonexistent overreaction? Do I win the internet?
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
...has Tumblr bullshit invaded the forums?
