If FFXIV didn't have such a great crafting and gathering game to it I probably wouldn't even sub anymore. I remember way back when dungeons were fun and learning them without stress and pressure (as if it's a flipping job) was what it was about. Now impatient angry people chewing someone out cause they aren't "leet" enough or can't do it fast enough for them. I just don't understand why it's so dang important to some folks. Is it just to get gear? Or bragging rights? What is it about "end game" that's so important? I haven't been there yet in this game but I have been there in others and it used to be fun.

Sadly this is just how FFXIV endgame is. The rest of the game is fun. Endgame is not. The game only rewards success, so people turn on each other. No one wants to help noobs. No one has patience for failure. And yes, if you want to experience endgame, better get in while the content is new. That's your best chance.

The only reward for completing endgame content is more miserable endgame content. So why bother? If the fights were fun, that would be a different story. But they're not. The fights are too hard for most people, which is why so much time is spent trying to gather a group of people who have any chance of beating the content. When I realized the majority of my time with endgame was spent in overhead and wasn't fun, I stopped doing endgame.

There are fun things to do in FFXIV but not endgame. Just ignore it.

i get clears for my friends and dont charge them a dime. i dont do it with my sell group. i instead get my friends or static members together to run our noob friends thru

but why should i take the time to gather 7 players for someone to get a clear, when i see plenty of fcs shouting from the snowy coerthas mountain stops that theyre willing to help players for FREE

i was in that position once too. i knew twintania by heart but PF and DFs kept failing. My old fc ran me thru t5. and then i networked and went into learning parties for second coil

i eventually found static. cleared Nael and now working on FCoB

just gotta put in the effort

The OP used the term "casual" in the correct sense as in "I cannot adhere to a raiding schedule because of an unpredictable real life".
THAT is the meaning behind "casual player" and not "casual" = "mouthbreathing bad player".

And the hard to swallow truth (for him) is simply: the Coil-raid is NOT designed for that type of player. >full stop<

Endgame content requires hours of practice, team synergy and more. It's simply not designed for the casual or PUG in mind. SE has put casual options into the game so that casual players can gear up and enjoy some content, without completing the more challenging content. Yoshi always launches content saying "We only expect a very small % of players can win." It is planned that way.

So OP yes I have to say that's it... Even if your PF filled up quickly and you didn't have to wait hours. Even if your party didn't rage and practiced through the full timer. You are simply very unlikely to win.

This makes the content unattractive for casual players who simply feel like they are wasting time. That leaves you with people who believe they deserve to win yet don't have a static group. These types are often less patient and frustrations can lead to toxicity.

There are other players like you, you just have to find them and try to plan around a busy life schedule. But YOU MUST try to work with the same group of 8 if you expect to progress through the hardest content in the game.

People like this are usually the ones that are carried and that's why they cry so loud because we are not doing enough work for them . Ramuh EX is the worst in DF atm though.

That is why it should be added to duty finder, that way at least you get some exposure and a possible win.

I started pre official, and i can clearly say it wasnt somethin else as it is now.
I even remember those hardliners in "normal" Ifrit (which i call the lvl 50)..."Hey wtf, no full darklight set and weapon? Ur wastin our time noob!".
And that happened almost in every second grp, ppl sometimes left without sayin anythin.
But that type of behavior is not limited to FFXIV.
I´ve seen similar things in GW classic and so on and so on and so on.

There are some ppl that get so damn exited, that they have to fullrun everything as fast and often as they can, sell runs to others, act weird as if there was a pro lvl which is recordnized by any other person then themselfes...and their few friends.
I know its fun to play good.
And i´ve been good in many games in the past, but i never got so low that i started to curse at newbies or sell runs to anybody.
Id rather get a "thank u" and maybe a smiley than 100k gil to spend in some bullshit again.
    Only my oppinion.
