You only have to see Miqo'te to see that half beast half human is a little wrong to describe beast tribes, even more if Yugiri is indeed an half dragon or lizard race. And you don't have to looks like a beast to be called a beast or a monster.

    post limit so :

There's also moogles in every cities.
And the reason the Amal'jaa got kicked out is mostly because when the whole Empire/Primal summoning started, it started to get a little... tense between them and the other. Before that, they were accepted just like Goblins and Qiqirns.

What I mean to say in the end is, the difference between a beasttribe and one of the 5 races isn't simply "they are accepted in city-states".
Because Yugiri's race isn't known by the city-states, so it's neither a beast tribe nor a human race. And there is a huge difference between accepted and being part of a city, a little like living someplace but not having the nationality, not being considered as a citizen of this place.

If I may be so bold, Miqo'tes are hardly half beast I'd say even ten percent would be pushing things. I would also argue that the word beastman is meant to be taken literally, not figuratively.

What of the Garleans, then, are they part of the 5 races? Or are they another hyur "tribe"?

Overall, I don't think she's a beast tribe at all. Somebody mentioned an "Auri" this may atleast be the name. Who knows, maybe having a -ri at the end of thier names is part of thier naming convention

Pretty much ya there are the 5 race in 1.0 the Garleans took kids and people and made them part of there army "If i remember right". Van Darnus is the only known person to have blood of the Allagan people. It's the main reason he could start Dalamud to fall down on Eorzea.

Releasing the Padja race would be pretty simple seeing how they are seemingly unaging children born rarely from certain Hyur bloodlines in the Twelveswood. But i guess they wont be release for us to use to they no longer rare to be born in Eorzea.

well my theory is she is from the bunny race that was introduced in FF12.
the ears under the hood look like they could be bunny ears, however her tail looks like a cat's tail. but her ears are to long to be a cat...

    Viangaa?

Of course I really don't think it's going to be the "viangaa" they showed as a prank for both April Fool's and the Las Vegas fan fest, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of them still mixing the two. The bangaa and vierra both had long ears that Yugiri has, she has a bangaa-like tail with what looked like scales to me. The rest of the body structure, however, seemed to be much more upright like a vierra or one of the other 5 races. I can also just see a bunny-like face under that mask, dunno why it just seems to fit aside from the ears. The males, in this case, will probably share more bangaa features. Whatever the case, I'm still very excited. Gonna hang onto a fantasia just for that. If I don't like it then I guess I have an extra fantasia :P

Personal guess, Yugiri is closer to the Gria of FFTA2, the long 'ears' under the hood could very well be dull horns and the Gria are part dragon so the short, scaly, lizard tail makes sense on that front. Its just missing visible wings which I assume won't happen because characters that can fly without mounts in FFXIV might be a little op.

We already have qiqirn as a race of rat people. I doubt they'd make a second, more kawaii version. And Yugiri doesn't seem to have a snout.
