To be fair about the Samurai speculation, they have been talking about Samurais in more than 1 occasion. For example, during the Lore segment, they, out of nowhere, mention Banri Oda and his descendant Nobunaga Oda, who was... a Samurai.
They don't mention Samurai, but they absolutely had the plans to hint to it, or else they would not have the picture of Nobunaga Oda. So, this was planned.

Soken's folder named Samura(i?) may be a coincidence, or not. However the fact that they have been hinting at it is definitely something to take into consideration. Keep your eyes and ears open tomorrow, it seems likely that they will drop something else...

Why would a Japanese dev name those set of folders in English when almost everything else there is in Japanese? Sounds like it's done on purpose and not by accident.

It was sokens laptop a lot of his files he named in english.

For those doubting the confirmation of DK, it should be noted that the MC and the stream hosts were saying that Yoshi-P just said something he probably shouldn't have, and has just dropped a bomb on everyone. So...there's that.

The thing to remember is that new jobs may require new classes, so SAM might well be a class and DRK a job. Unless they want to make DRK use axes or break their own design and make it a single-handed weapon user this time around, they'd have to add a new class for it. SAM is a two-handed sword user, DRK weapon of choice tended to be two-handed swords, just saying...


The folder leak was staged. that's bloody obvious. No way would they let random people at an expo spot it unless it was deliberate. that would be locked up tight otherwise and Soken would be in lots of trouble.

This is true, however...seeing a Dark Knight use bushido techniques would be....awkward to say the least. Not saying it hasn't been done before (Bravely Default and FFV), but seeing Samurai lead up to Dark Knight in general, would be...weird. I think the best option for Samurai is Fencer class, as that would also lead to many other options for future jobs. But that's my opinion, and probably something that won't happen. But who knows. Maybe come expansion they'll finally add the option of splitting attribute bonuses for jobs, that way Scholars and Summoners can finally be maximized in potency, and that could also apply for DK, if it does wind up branching from the Gladiator class. Just wishful thinking, oh wells.

I also found it interesting that they "bleeped" out the whole "Knights of the Round Table" thing. I wonder what was the purpose of that? Hmmm...
