    they said multiple jobs, being 1 of multiple means it is likely we will see other DPS added as well and DRK could be one of those. the fans at Fan Fest tried to get them to give more hints and they refused

    no no DRK was HINTED at not actually confirmed(the reactions of the panel up during that segment of the FFXIV Fan Festival gave confirmation that it is likely) Healer and Tank ARE Confirmed they said so many times for the expansion that MULTIPLE JOBS were planned for 3.0 including Healer and Tank.
    we know nothing about their idea of what DRK is for FFXIV. it could be a Tank, could be DPS. we won't know till they give us more information between now and next spring.

    I am going to make a bet. I'll call the Following.

    Lancer -> Templar (Tank)
    Soldier -> Dark Knight (DPS)
    Soldier -> Samurai (DPS)
    Musketeer -> Alchemist (Healer)

    The Soldierr Class would be somewhat Ishgard exclusive. Whereas Templar also will be an Ishgard Job and Musketeer will be in Limsa while Alchemist could be really anywhere. No starting as Soldier on a New Character (like Rogue) you would need to Hit level 10 or maybe even 30 or 40 (to compare to the Zones around Ishgard) to effectively Start the Soldier questline (lvl 30/40 ?).

    The Soldier would be a physical meele dps class with a Two Handed Sword and the 2 Jobs branching off it are Explained through the Storyline as the one who falls to darkness and magic (DoM - Dark Knight ?) or those Soldiers that wander off on a journey to become greater Swordmasters (Samurai).

    Templar would be some Kind of Holy Magic Tank based on the Lancer abilities (which now grant increased enmity).

    No... they really don't. There is literally no reason why you couldn't have a different set of animations based on the weapon equipped. Lest we forget that some skills already cross weapon boundaries, such as a Lancer's Feint or a Gladiators Savage Blade. You know what happens when you use those skills on a job it's not designed for? It has a unique animation based on the weapon you're equipping.

    It's not exactly rocket science here.
