I seriously doubt Samurai will be in this expansion. If anything, I am confident that the new Tank job will be Templar, giving Lancers a job with *gasp* INCREASED survivability!
Would also make sense, since Ishgard.

Someone spotted a "Samurai" folder on one of the developer's PCs and the expansion is supposed to add two new classes, one a tank and one a healer, with their own jobs. Additional jobs for existing classes are unconfirmed. Templar is a big maybe.
*ahem*
Plus:
http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen..._panel/cld7718Just asked him about it as I got his autograph, and he put his finger up to his lips and said, "Sshhh, it's a secret!"
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I'm confused on the confirmed stuff. So Dark Knight is confirmed? Healer and tank jobs are just expansion speculation?
Why would a Japanese dev name those set of folders in English when almost everything else there is in Japanese? Sounds like it's done on purpose and not by accident.
Soken actually has a pretty good working knowledge of English, as he demonstrated during the music panel.
But yeah, I don't believe for a second that that wasn't intentional.
; ; don't make my samurai a tank noooooooooooooooo
