It's one TEENY TINY chunk of content added to a MASSIVE game for the extreme hardcore players. And as far as I, a casual player, am concerned, they deserve to be rewarded for beating it and have it as an option to play. If you see a player running around in full high allagan, THEY FUCKING EARNED IT.
Two things:

1) those extremely difficult bosses are OPTIONAL.

2) those extremely difficult bosses are MINOR SIDE-STORIES.

I would argue Coil contains MASSIVE PLOT SIGNIFICANCE regarding the 1.0 & 2.0 Storylines.

Gating such rich, significant plot behind such difficult content is bothersome IMHO.
