I think literally EVERY Final Fantasy game has a super boss that's is this giant wall of difficulty that only the most dedicated and superior of players are able to defeat. Like FFVII's Ruby and Emerald Weapon, or FFIX's Ozma.

It's one TEENY TINY chunk of content added to a MASSIVE game for the extreme hardcore players. And as far as I, a casual player, am concerned, they deserve to be rewarded for beating it and have it as an option to play. If you see a player running around in full high allagan, THEY FUCKING EARNED IT.

Besides, SE has implemented alternate routes for us less-hardcore players to get BIS gear and weaponry options, such as unweathered soldiery gear being on par with the high allagan, just with slight variations to stats. (and yes, I know all about how said variations can make gear slant one way or another for certain skills, but unless you are already Coil level or working that way, the differences are negligible for the content a step below it.) We also have confirmation that new allagan tomestones are added, likely being the main alternative to whatever gear the final coil drops for players willing to endure it.

Basically, what I'm saying is, let those psychopaths that like super, extreme, masochistic fights have their fun.
