As it stands now, I like my SMN glamour more than I do my Wolfseye set, so I won't bother buying more prisms and glamouring back and forth between classes. Too much gil, not enough pay-off.
But if they tied it to classes, I would think more people, like myself, would take time to think of individual outfits for those classes that share so much equipment and would be more willing to utilize the system even more.

The system itself frankly isn't perfect if it's a hassle to have multi-job vanity sets in a game that touts being able to level all classes on one character. But this is my impression as someone who thoroughly loves vanity systems.

I think his main point is that he'd like title preferences to be saved per job/class set. Like how we have head-gear/no head gear, weapon visible/no weapon visible options saved per set. I think it's a reasonable suggestion for the future.
